A few times I have been in Nordstrom, I have noticed these oversized rapper watches that are just way way overpriced for what you seem to be getting.

Anyone knows what makes these watches so popular? I am almost sure they are not worth the $$.

Um, Swiss made, ceramic construction, automatic, mechanical movement, date complication, 300m depth rating.

I don't believe the price is out of line. White or red G-Shocks are very popular, this is a step to the next level, so to speak. Does it appeal to me? No, but neither do Daytonas.

these are the perfect examples of bigger is better and heavier is better mentality. Thos who wear these are not really into horology or history. Yet their water resistance is worse than a cotton ball!!

My local jeweler just replaced Longines with Nixon.

Way oversized, quartz, and over-priced.

Most are so big you expect to find a retractable power cord for wall mounting.

Yes, I've seen a few of my friends own these. I agree, a bit much, but I guess there is plenty of demand for them. Maybe they will serve as a "gateway" watch and turn young people into watch collecting/adoring in the years to come. :)

I have seen them in stores...surf shops etc. They look pretty cheap / flimsy. Casios look much better IMO.

Seriously people - many of our so called high end watches have very little horological merit and at the end of the day they're all 'fashion' watches.

Oh - don't tell me - you work at CERN and need that green crystal Milgauss.

What? You regularly dive below 300 meters and spend time in decompression chambers?

Am I the only person who actually uses a Daytona to time my laps around the Nurburgring?

It's far more likely that I want to match my watch with my outfit and make a fashion statement rather than a bank statement - hence Nixon.

I really like their wandering hours watches....

I've been to Switzerland and rode my motorcycle to the ring, but the rain screwed me out of riding it. Does this mean I can wear the Milgauss or a Daytona?

I've had many a person tell me I was nuts for paying what I've did for my Rolex, as well as saying Rolex is an oversized fashion statement.

By the way the ebay listing linked above is a very expensive watch for a Nixon at $2,601. The ones I've seen are mostly $500 or less with some under $100.

I see more Nixon on young people than any other brands. I handled one, it was about 600mm and was a pile of garbage.
