Wow - service times are a lot faster

I am in UK and it used to take at least 12 weeks to get a rolex serviced...

I just brought my Date Just in for service and they said in 5 weeks it will be done!

Wonder how they manage to reduce the time so much!?

Less customers perhaps due to summer holidays? I see many Brits coming to Spain :-).

Probably also Rolex’s endorsement of a longer service interval could be a reason for why we would see faster service times

You done it through an AD or taken it directly to HQ in London?

I called the HQ, originally I was going to drive to the RSC in Kent to drop it off but then realised HQ have a service center as well. They were £100 cheaper than doing it through an AD and they said about 5-6 weeks.

One of the TRULY GREAT things about Rolex, they have very reasonable service times.

Manufacturing is getting more precise and the watches probably don't need as much service as in the past.

Hand delivered a SS sub that stopped keeping good time (late 90s, early 00s model) to NYC factory Rolex center a year back. I didn't get the call back for roughly 9 weeks. No explanation. Not a regularly wear piece for me, so not a huge issue, but was very annoying, given the 1,000+ bill and no damage.

Glad it worked better for you all.

Serviced my Deep Sea in St James Rolex in about 5 weeks. The same when I serviced an ExII there last year. In 2011 I had to wait about 4 months !!

Took two watches to my AD for servicing, one being a ladies DJ and the second my 16600. AD sent both to the RSC on the same day and just over five weeks later I get a call to say the DJ was ready to pick up. Some two weeks later (7 weeks in total) and I'm still to receive the call to say the 16600 is ready.

Different watches I know and certainly different servicing/testing regimes for the 16600 to a standard DJ. In years gone by I've waited 3-4 months so turnaround times have certainly improved.

Only caveat is that I requested a movement service with specific instructions not to touch the dial, bezel, case & bracelet. You would assume this wouldn't take as long as a full overhaul.

When I first joined the forum the standard was four weeks. Seems to be back to that now.

Hi - I did take it to Pragnell - We shall see if they stick to the 5 weeks... but sounds like things are much better! They charged £460 which is pretty reasonable!

4-5 weeks is std for Rolex and AP in the states. PP unless it is a warranty repair can be significantly longer.
