The store manager who I purchased the watch from was away at a two day training session...presumably for new Basel releases ;) but I spoke to another employee at the AD yesterday and he kept saying he couldn’t see the defect, and even if he did, the watch is too hard to come by so he can’t swap one with me. I admit the crookedness is not as obvious in real life, but from his tone of voice, I don’t think he was really trying to help.

You wouldn't want them to swap for a new BLNR, just to send to RSC under warranty for a repair/correction. Seems like an employee skirting taking ownership over over an issue/process. I'd just wait and speak with store manager when back.

Definitely crooked. I would send it to RSC and have them replace the crystal or adjust/reposition the cyclops. My OCS would not let me keep it that way!

RSC Toronto has a very good reputation. I wouldn’t worry. I have a watch in for service there now and I have found them to be very helpful and friendly.

Considering they are now only producing approx 20 a year you’d think they’d have plenty of time at QC to check things like this.

It has been suggested to try to rotate the crystal a little clockwise. Also to check if the laser crown is at 6. Have you done this yet? They sometimes get moved and that in fact makes the cyclops look off center. This has been discussed before a long time ago.

Should one be able to rotate the crystal? That doesn't sound very secure.

There press fit and not perfect. They can move in rough shipping or hard shock use. This is something I would try before sending it in.

You can see it with the naked eye if you hold it in the light just right, assuming you have good eyes. It's most readily viewable if the light hits the crystal from the side, so it's near parallel to the surface, but I've been able to see mine just holding it under a desk lamp at the proper angle.

One thing I noticed on my SubC is it's difficult to see the LEC against the white 6:00 marker, so I have to angle the watch so I'm viewing the crown against the black dial. This automatically makes it look off center, so I'm not sure how much it's going to help you diagnose if the crystal position is the issue.

Dark room and use your cell phone/LED flashlight on a 90 degree angle. If the LEC is off the 6 position your crystal has shifted or may just be a sloppy install.

Crystal needs correct tools and a watchmaker to rotate , don't know what kind of hulk can move it without. Irrelevant of the LEC position you need to send it to RSC. They will either rotate and reseat the existing crystal or install a new one.
