RIP Joe

I always enjoyed the shows and the sports broadcasts that he showed up on.

I will miss Joe. Bought an MLB package just to listen to his (Diamondbacks)and Vin Scully's (Dodgers) calls. The NBC MLB Game of the Week with Tony Kubek was one of my favorites growing up.

But his interview of Lennon/McCartney in 1968, subbing for Carson on The Tonight Show was an all-time classic.

RIP, Joe.

Yeah, Joe was out of sorts that night. Not the most compelling of interviews, given the subject matter. Remember staying up to watch that as a kid.

I vaguely remember them being on Johny Carson. I just didn't remember that it was Joe however.

He really did. Won a World Series with the Cardinals as a rookie. Is there anyone who didn't enjoy listening to him call a game and tell stories? Great guy as well.

Yes, he always seemed like he was really humble, down to earth, and a great story teller the way I remember it.

That was kind of the humor of it. John and Paul come out, and it's..."Who IS this guy"?

Found it-Audio only:

Found it:

Your links missing. But all I could find to this point was extremely bad video. Hardly worth watching.

RIP Joe. I met him a few times at D-backs games. Always made time to talk to the fans. A classy person with a true appreciation for life.
