I think he could have worked something out with Prince (the other one), don't ya know.

True dat, but Prince is very controlling about his studio work, and I doubt Paul, being the rather self-absorbed show-off type (no disrespect here, but it is true) would have been able to work with him.

I have to agree, David. Probably why nothing has ever developed along those lines.

Not quite "bubble-gum" music, Rick. Now if you want TRUE bubble-gum music, you can't do much better than The 1910 Fruitgum Company and this ditty...

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy.
I got love in my tummy,
And I feel like a-lovin you:
Love, you're such a sweet thing,
Good enough to eat thing
And that's just a-what I'm gonna do.
Ooh love, to hold ya,
Ooh love, to kiss ya,
Ooh love, I love it so.
Ooh love, you're sweeter,
Sweeter than sugar.
Ooh love, I wont let you go.

Man, I'm jealous of my husband. Both of us were born in the late 60s, but he has a Beatles song, and I have song I've never heard of, by a group I've never heard of...

ok here is a question. Can you name the song title that was number one three times by three different artists and was three different songs (just had the same title)?

"I'm Leaving It Up to You" by Dale & Grace Never heard of them!
Ahh, a bit of doowop!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUnBQ2frrMo

However in the UK where I was born it was this on my actual birthday!
I wanna hold your hand by that little known group, the Beatles!

The Power of Love.

I can anticipate your next question: The artists were Huey Lewis and the News, Jennifer Rush and Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

All Right, dude ! I remember hitch-hiking to the mall to buy the album when it first came out. Alice ruled back then. The first single was Elected, which was released around the time of the '72 Nixon-McGovern race.

Well, I take Alice's words to heart: "School's out FOREVER!!!"

The original AC band was unassailably dynamite, and sadly under-rated. Dennis Dunaway's work on School's Out was in fact the impetus for me to take up electric bass.

Agreed, David. Alice and the band were always put into that androgynous, shock-rock category, and I feel their true worth was obscured by that moniker. Welcome to my Nightmare!!!
