Pepsi GMT II question

A few questions for the GMT II experts:

1. When was the last year/serial they offered the Pepsi / non ceramic GMT II?

2. Do they have ROLEXROLEXROLEX engraved in the rehaut?

3. I see many mint examples available in the For Sale section, do you think there will still be several mint examples available in about a year?

4. I understand that there are different versions / movements, which movement is the most expensive and why?

If you haven't noticed, I'm very interested in buying one but think I should probably wait until next year to do so. Feel free to add any additional comments regarding GMTs II!!

1. 16710 production ended in 2007, so probably Z-serial (maybe M?)

2. The last year of production certainly would.

3. Probably.

4. As far as I know, there were only the 3185 and 3186

If you like the Pepsi GMT, get it already if you can. It'll be more expensive next year.

1. 16710 production ended in 2008, with M-serial

2. They never had ROLEXROLEXROLEX engraved in the rehaut.

3. Probably.

4. First one had the 3185 and last ones the 3186 (Z8xxx/Z9xxx/Mxxxx series). Those with 3186 are more expensive because only a few were sold during about one year only.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Weren't there also some models with lug holes, and some without - or am I getting it confused with the original GMT models?

No, you are correct, my Z serial has no lug holes.

+1

Also, there are several font variations on the Z and M models i.e. roman numeral, rectangular, and stick font. I used to have a Z series w/3186 and rectangular font, and currently have 2 of the M series w/stick fonts. They are definitely my favorite out of all the sport models.

Prices seem to go up every year, especially for pristine condition ones.

The Z and M series did not have lug holes.

I agree. Jump on the Pepsi if you can. It will only increase in value. There are still plenty in great condition. I've seen a few for sale on TRf at good prices.

I think unused examples will be around for a few years, but the prices will go higher... unless Rolex unveils a ceramic Pepsi...
