Submariner "A" series

I just purchased a submariner blue face two tone from a repuatble jeweler. Although he did not have the papers he did authenticate it and said that it was 100% real. He showed me everything on the watch that warranted it was real except now I have gotten home and noticed at the 6 o'clock position my watch says "SWISS". I thought all Rolex's including my datejust said "Swiss Made". Can anyone out there help me?

Does it say SWISS-T<25?

The A series was right around the time they switched away from tritium dials. Yours may be a transition dial...or if it has the T<25 then everything is as normal as it should be.

I have an A series 16613. If it is a late A it will have SEL and the gold thru clasp.

That is a good sign. "SWISS" only dials were used during the transition from tri to lume dials, only all A-series had them but they only came on the A-series (1998/99) so the fact it is there verifies the authenticity of your watch.

I've got two A-series divers; a 16610 Sub and a 16600 SD, both "SWISS" only.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I feel better now knowing that the A series had SWISS for that period. I am pumped about my new Sub t/t.
