Congratulations. I own the Polar and have always enjoyed black dial watches. This was a tough decision for me but no bad choices. Enjoy.

Great choice
it is a great tool watch,
actually in back explorers say in easier to read,
specially with snowy weather.

Cheers!

I currently have the 16570 Polar, which I love, but I want to add the 42mm Exp II as well....just deciding between another polar or the Black dial.....common sense says go black!

Love the explorer II. So much so that I just bought the polar to match my black dialed one. Watch out, you may feel the same urge...that rolex 42mm case is easily a favorite. Now if they do the bezel's in ceramic...

Thanks for the kind words everyone! At 42 mm, its not as bulky as I imagined, and I'm thoroughly enjoying every minute of wearing it. Now I'm debating whether to set my 24-hour orange hand to local "home" time or GMT/UTC time. A search of the forums shows valid points for both arguments. I do travel to different time zones about once every month or two. Of course, on my BLNR, the GMT hand is set to GMT time and I rotate the bezel accordingly. Since the bezel is fixed on my Exp2, I'm considering just setting it to my local "home" time. Any thoughts from fellow Exp2 enthusiasts? Also, if any of you out there own both the GMT2 and Exp2, I'm interested in hearing what time zone you set your 24-hour hand to on each of them.

I just keep mine on home time and use the quick set hour hand when I travel to another. But that's just me.

That's exactly what I do... the 24 hr hand stays on home time. The quickset hr hand is great.

Congrats. I think the Exp II with a white dial is what I'll be getting within a couple of years
