ARTTEM: Online Watch Photography Competition

Hi all,

Apologies to mods if this is inappropriate as I can't find the rules here - so please kindly delete if that's the case.

For most of last year I have been working on a personal project. Being a watch collector (like most of you here) I really enjoy viewing watch photos-like this thread ;-)

I have created a website called ARTTEM (www.arttem.co.uk) is an annual "Online photographic competition" where users submit and ALSO VOTES for the submitted photos - we don't have a selected panel of judges. The catch is, you can only SUBMIT or VOTE for ONE photo per competition category (you can re-submit your photo/vote before the competition category ends).

We decided to have a voting system as we believe social media is now getting very meaningless with "Likes", by hosting competitions and limiting to ONE vote/photo submission per competition category we think it will drum up more interest and quality. And provide a better "social recognition" when fellow watch enthusiasts are involved with the winning decision.

There are varies competition such as:
1) Wristshots
2) Aged (Patina on dial, scratches on the plexi, etc)
3) Combo - which I know you guys will love where you can share your straps/shoes.
4) Collection - showing your collection or a few pieces of your collection, e.g a set of Daytonas,etc
5) Custom - if you have a customised pieces from say Bamford, Prohunter, Tempus- Machina, etc

For example we have an annual competition called "Wristshot" of which its category will be monthly (daily if there's more uptake), therefore we will have 12 category winners for the entire year, of which the ultimate competition winner will be the winner with the most votes. Each user can only vote or submit ONE photo for each category, i.e. in this example is one vote/photo per month.

The GOAL is to exhibit the winning photos around the world if we have enough up take. I personally feel "watch photography" is highly under rated in the "real world" (i.e not online) it’s time for some of these beautiful photos be printed and shared amongst fellow watch enthusiasts and photography lovers.
