5235G production number ..

I was visiting the PP Boutique yesterday and next to me a customer with a 5270R asking about his long waiting 5235g since early last year wasn't too happy and he asked the manager how many 5235g already been delivered since the launch, the manager told him he got no idea.

I am wondering too... What do you think? My guess are... easily into the thousands??

very few have been delivered since Dec2015

release would not be in the thousands thats for sure. Only two major waves of deliveries (US) and they were both in 2015

As of right now production is officially suspended

My guess of over thousands pieces based on the relatively soft auction price.. maybe I am wrong.

Could it be that this is a collector's piece, as a collector would that be they are after double sealed piece?

Just wondering.

I think anything that is in demand where there is no supply would warrant a premium. In this case after ceasing production. However I think demand is pretty weak (unusual watch that I quite like) and this is reflected on the supply side. Of course human nature is when you cant get something it has to be good and then everyone will climb on the bandwagon and drive prices up!!

It's a fantastic piece...but not one that makes sense as your only watch...so this is a collectors watch or someone just with multiple watches.

I love mine...it makes me smile every time I look at it.

Do you know why they stopped in the first place? (i.e. Lack of demand or production issues)

5235G potentially will end up like 5960/1A?

Hard to say what will happen. Is Patek's first AC doing well on price as an example? It depends on how many were made and probably how much time has elapsed since it left production.

Few AD's I deal with told me there were production issues with 5235G. There is demand for the 5235G with a waitlist in most AD's in the UK but the demand is not as high as for the nautilus models

At the moment Patek is releasing the 5235G in small numbers but we never know what is going to happen in the future with this reference.
