Rolex 6556

I feel lucky to have "met" R.W.T. through this forum. One of the things we've discussed in our correspondence is the 6556 Tru-Beat. I bought a working one last year with the intact "tru-beat" function: springing second, dead-beat second, jump-second, whatever your preference in terminology. I bought it in spite of the dial not having the "Tru-Beat" logo: the dial is crisp and attractive, all the indices, paint and cross-hairs line up very well. There is no comprehensive guide to all the variations of the 6556/6558, and there were a few, including that the later ones had a version of the 1040 movement that was the 1040B.

Now, thanks to my discussion and own cursory research, I am experiencing doubts. Not grave doubts, I love the watch and will be keeping it, but I always believed that I had purchased an example with a service dial. So, I post it for your scrutiny and ridicule, as well as any meaningful information you might care to share: original dial, service dial, or re-painted dial?

As always, I apologize for the photo, the light in my cubicle is tricky, and I am inept.
