New Omega Proplof vs Ocean 7Lm Ploprof?
Any thoughts-
Ocean 7 seems like a real steal for the price difference |

It certainly does. The styling on the Ocean7 seems to reflect the original, whereas the reissue has some new/different tweaks to the look. I personally wouldn't pay the $$ for a Ploprof reissue with such a great alternative. Also, the Ocean7 can be ordered with a blue face!

Perhaps I'm the only one, but I think the Proplof is just plain UGLY! Not to mention that it is WAY over priced, IMHO. Cheers, Bill P.

Yeah, some like it and some don't.
This is the Ocean7 LM-7. Black or Blue face, stainless or PVD. I think there might be an upcoming titanium version. Much cheaper - $999 for the bare steel. |

I am not big on "Hommage" watches. For this it would be Omega or nothing for me.

I did not know that Ocean7 made a ploprof also...
Is this a homage type of piece or is this a bonafide Ocean7 model? Is this new?

Ummm... now that I see the Ocean 7 knock off of the Proplof, I think it is every bit as UGLY as the Omega real one. Just my view. Cheers, Bill P.

Sorry but you are comparing a "homage" to the real thing....
I wouldn't touch the Ocean7.... Its like wanting a Ferrari but buying a kit car. Be real or go home. Nothing against the Ocean7 BUT just not my thing..... You can't even say that Ocean7 was inspired by the Omega as they did not adapt the design they just made a copy. The only thing thats not the same is the crown as they could not copy Omegas

Again, I do not consider it an homage... Corvus, that is an Homage it is a watch no longer made by anyone. MKII is a mix of Homage and duplicates.
Just my two cents. If you are buying the watch to use it get whichever you like most. If you are buying it because you like it but really want the PloProf I think you are making a mistake. BUT That is my ignorant and worthless .02 cents! You should not listen to what I or anyone else says, you should do what you want to do!

I never had an opinion other than thinking it was an extreme divers watch. However, after trying Mike's Omega on at the vintage GTG I was very impressed with this beast. Probably never own one but w/ the Omega mesh strap it's a unique and substantial package.

how do they compare? not even close ...
Oemga is the real deal. and Ocean7 is a look-a-like they are in completely different price segment and you get what you paid for, abide the price to quality is not proportional, they increase exponentially. (luxury goods never does). its easy, if you want the looks but can't swing the cash, you can ONLY go for LM7. There isn't another choice for you. For the people that has the cash for it ... oh well, they are do whatever they want ... LOL (they can still go for a LM7, there's nothing wrong with that. you can afford it doesn't mean that you have to spend the moeny for it. it just gives you the option to do it) i am not trying to talk bad on the LM7 (they are decent watch by itself), but the new Omega Ploprof and LM7 are complete different watch ... only one was made to look like the other |

Great advice. Personally, I've got nothing wrong w/ the watch...for that price it's hard not to like it. But as Jeremy said, if you buy it thinking, "Hey, it's pretty much an Omega" I think people will be kidding themselves if they think they'll ever truly believe that. As I've always said, buy the best and you'll never be disappointed.

Not to hijack, but I found the gas problem is all in the food. I switched between a few brands before I found one that works for Boz...he hardly ever farts anymore and when he does't I'm happy to report (believe it or not) it's not even bad (I no longer can blame everything I produce on him anymore ). Purina ProPlan - Sensitive Skin & Stomach...give it a try...you might be pleasantly surprised. It cost about double what I use to feed him, but my nose thanks me every day.

I just got a lm7 and I think it great , but it should only be worth $400 not the $ 800 I paid for it . I love the original but don't have $8000 plus to spend ,I'm under no illusions this is is just a homage but everything great has been replicated at some stage , as long as its not a blatant fake who cares . Buy the way if I had the real deal like my 60,s 300 or flight master I'd be to scared to wear it ! So everyone just chillax it's only a bloody watch!
