Thank you for the review. I just joined the boards in my search for more info about the Milguass GV. I am going to buy my first Rolex tomorrow at an AD and have decided on the Milguass GV as my first watch :D

Great review from Bo and very practical rating system.
I love the Milgauss a lot and took me some time (20 years) to get over my divers and consider this line of pieces. I love them so much that I bought 2. These are my 2 babies.

So as my first post on the forum i wanted to thank you for the review and flash from the past on the Milgauss, I bought the Milgauss GV a couple of weeks ago while on vacation in Hawaii. I am a welding inspector on pipelines and just about every joint of pipe i touch has some degree of magnetism so the watch has more then just great looks for me. I plan on getting the entire line of them from the 6541 & 6543 to the other two of the series i have now.

Wow, that would be an awesome collection, but very expensive. Good luck.

I vaguely recall seeing this review, but am surprised I hadn't commented on it until now. Very well done.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice the brown undertones in the dark grey dial. I occasionally see it when the sun hits at the right angle, and I don't have the GV so it's not caused by the crystal.

Love this watch.

To add to my review, the writing on the Rolex Milgauss GV dial has changed a little since its inception...

Here's a picture of the V-series Milgauss GV reviewed here:

Compare with this other more recent, random series Milgauss GV:

As you can see, the "OYSTER PERPETUAL" has a larger spacing on your MG GV while the word "MILGAUSS" does not seem to have had its font / spacing changed...

Thanks Bo, I enjoyed reading this great review again. My fave Milgauss is the black dial (non-GV) model. Something about orange and black strongly appeals!

Great review, thanks much. It takes a special eye to see the beauty (and the flaws) in such a pricey investment!

It looks like the inner case back is threaded. I wonder why?
