Well for the perfect modern Daytona for me would be a dial and bezel and plain black aluminium insert just like the Daytona 6263.

I like it....BUT I also feel as if it's quite a shift from the current SS models....it has lost it's classiness that the SS white - but black especially has. That's fine...but it'll be competing in a different arena...after all few will buy it because of it's complication. I would also like to see the PCLs go on a dial/bezel/case that seems to be coming.
The way the black dial bounces of the silver bezel is really quite striking about the current models.. Will wait and see...

I'll buy it. But I prefer Rolex movement dial with black chronograph outer circles.

It looks okay but i wouldn't go for it. The reason I like the current daytona (if i could find one at a good deal) is that it doesn't have the ceramic bezel. Although on the flip side it would be a lot easier keeping this watch scratch free than a standard daytona.

Agreed

I like it but it moves the Daytona into a much more casual and sporty area. It reminds me of the Paul Newman which is good. But it also reminds me of the Tag Heuer Formula One which is maybe not so good. |

Very nice, but the price for even SS Ceramic will be at least 15K.

Well done Andrew! I'd send that over to Rolex for consideration…. definitely would be a popular seller.
I like the Zenith dial- I think they could slightly beef up the black subdial rings and hands and give the white dial some stunning blue lume to finish it off. |

Is there any reason you can't "build" one of these buy special ordering?
- I'd like a modern version of what I have seen Newman wearing - SS watch - black/ceramic bezel - panda dial - black crock strap Any reason you couldn't just order a standard SS daytona watch, order the components and have them assemble? Then I'd have the look I want without having a super expensive vintage watch that I'd be afraid to wear working in the garage. Thoughts? |

This is more of my personal taste but would love to see it up to 41mm with fatter crown, chrono lugs and crown guards. While I'm at it, might as well compliment those changes with increasing the thickness of the watch and bracelet by 1 to 1.5 mm. These changes will go great with the more visual arabic numerals of the panda dial.

I'm not a big Daytona/chrono fan, but these look really nice
I think that the ceramic bezel is a great move for the Daytona. I wish that Rolex had done the same with the new (42 mm) Explorer II
