I'm independent software vendor. Don't do 9-5 job for years though I think I put in even more hours than that. However, the flexibility makes the work lot more enjoyable.

I'm between jobs, was a project coordinator in South Korea for a few years (12-16 hour days depending on situation), now back in the states and trying to re-employ myself, very difficult. I'd love to train clock repair and spend all day in a shop listening to chimes while I repaired clocks! Sounds like a great job to me... :-)

I am an emergency physician. Soon after residency, I had three daughters and a spouse, and I decided to set my hours to allow me to spend as much time with them as possible while the kids were growing up. Since 1987, I've worked ten 12-hour shifts per month. Now that my kids are grown, I'm considering a bump to twelve per month.

The only way to get ahead is to work when my industry's top professionals are asleep.

Sure I am in from 9-5, but I eat sleep and live my career.

Technical Sales in the technology field. My hours vary, can be anywhere from 30-60 per week (I travel quite a bit from San Jose or Oakland Airport).

I work about 60 hours a week. I rotate my watches every few days or so.

I am a lead structural designer in the oil and gas game, specifically the drilling side of things, I work overseas on a rotation.....28 days on 28 days off....in actual fact it's 28 days work, 2 days travelling and 26 full days at home for each 56 day cycle.....when I am at work (as I am at present) I work 12 hours per day, for each and every one of the 28....so I work 84 hours per week but only for half the year....6 month leave in chunks of 4 weeks at a time per year is good....

Do you intend to start devoting your efforts to inventing a shield to replace the O-zone layer?

There are a lot of people here in the interior of Alaska that work in the oil industry. Many of them work similar schedules. My father in law used to work 2 weeks on 2 weeks off and 6 weeks on 3 weeks off. Has to be a bit difficult balancing your schdeule with family

Now why couldn't my husband have thought of that? As part of an anesthesiologist group practice, he works when the surgeons work. And there must be something the matter with surgeons because they don't seem to enjoy free time... be it day or night, weekends, holidays.....

That said, since I'm a stay at home mom to our three girls and hours aren't really trackable...so -- husband probably averages 50-60 hours a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less. If he's on call he might be at the hospital for two days straight.

Then again, sometimes I'm not sure if he's at work or hiding out in the basement.

I'm back to studying so I am "working" quite a few hours a week, say 50+.

My business is effectively a zombie so there's about two hours a week max, all of it administration and finance.

My favorite people. I'll never do Lasik - love eyewear!

Do you carry Oliver Peoples? I have a pair and they can't be beat for style and comfort.
