Icon13 Eff Bynum.

Today was the twins' second birthday, of course had a party. Erin had adorable Mickey and Minnie Mouse cakes made.... All that cute stuff... But I digress. Didn't get to see the game live (but knew the score, 'course) just now watching Inside the NBA, saw what Bynum did to Barea.

He could have ended that man's career out of pure frustration as a result of getting whooped. Punk move, IMO. So, Bynum.

i totally missed the game myself but followed the score as well. sounds like an intentional dirty play, gonna have to scope out the highlights....or in this case, lowlights

Laker fan here. So sad to see them go down to a team that wont get to the finals.

"We were getting embarrassed, they were breaking us down. So I just fouled somebody," Bynum said after the game. "I was just kind of salty about being embarrassed. ... For me, it was embarrassing to have the smallest guy on the court keep running down the lane and making shots."

It was a frustration foul, don't think Bynum had any intention of seriously hurting Barea, roughing him up yea, but hurting him no.

Still, sad to see my team go down like that...there definitely were personal issues that affected this team's performance. Talent-wise this team should have beaten Dallas 4-2.

Punk comment. I can understad you being upset at recent action of Artest, Odom, Bynum. Those plays don't accurately reflect true character of the Lakers.

Lakers are one of the classiest organizations in all of sports, period.

Right. Except for the 75 year old owner's penchant for dating girls who could be his granddaughter. Maybe it's true love....though he seems to be "truly in love" every few weeks or less.

Or the owner's daughter, a high-level employee in the organization, dating the head coach. In corporate America, that stuff isn't tolerated.

Or that this same owner's daughter posed for Playboy in the organization's former arena.

Classy..........

Fusion, we'll leave it up to you to base the classiness of a sports organization on it's employees personal lives. Major fail.

The Lakers organization treats its players well and many come back in other capacities after their playing careers are over.

I don't care that Buss dates young women, good for him. Why are you mad?

And so Jeannie and Phil date, so what...you seem to be the only person who takes issue with that and please don't toss in the corporate America analogy, apples and oranges.

I'm sorry that the bay area teams did nothing for you the last...uhhh..last few decades, but don't bash the Lakers because you're frustrated.

To paraphrase a line from a movie....."those are your emotions acting without the benefit of intellect".

Your definition of classy is supremely narrow. Per your definition, there are hundreds of organizations in all sports that are just as classy.

But to the rest of humanity, class goes well beyond taking care of ones own. If class were that simple to achieve, every criminal organization in the world is "classy" by your BS definition.

What class truly conveys is setting a standard throughout the organization by which you'd want your family, friends and professional colleagues to adhere to. The Lakers are nowhere near one of the classiest organizations anywhere.

Wow, what a punk move..... easily can result in serious injury or worse. He should be significantly penalized for something like that.

Fusion, I merely rebutted your argument staing the Lakers were not a classy organization due to certain specific personal actions of some of their members. I NEVER fully outlined my criteria for what I consider "class," it's somewhat a mute point as you've already outlined a fairly narrow criteria for what MY definition of class is. Thank you for the service, and for misrepresenting my view about the matter.

You're entitled to your own opinion, as everyone is, about the Lakers or any other organization. With that said, I shared my opinion and don't wish to engage in a lengthy argument about the merits of class or lack thereof within any particular organization. Your point of view is understood.

I do not condone the actions of Bynum, and yes he could have seriously hurt Barea. I'm glad Barea popped back up and wasn't hurt in anyway.

And sheeesh...sorry for being a newbie and crashing an anti-Lakers thread started by a respected forum member

I do know when to start running though......

No need to run, you have a valid argument

Glad to have you here, mate - and I'm glad we don't agree. If we all did, we'd be friggin bored to death
