Exactly. I picture it as the model that other Rolex owners see across the room and yell, "NERD!"

I like them all, some nice pics.

I would add one to the collection but would need a few others first like a BLNR.

I watched a video displaying the green crystal reference stating "it compliments a business suit as well as a bathing suit" I personally think its stunning, versatile, and just plain different. With that said I'm only really a fan of the green crystal black dial.

Dang. I'm wearing mine right now. It's very hard to rotate this watch once I've put it on my wrist.

From what I see around, Milgauss is quite popular. The coloured dial appeals to many.

I see a lot more Milgauss than Explorer 2 or SD, in fact.

I could go on...small crown...its the only sports watch to have the crappy date just clasp (no flip lock)....etc etc.

That being said I think it's a lovely watch.

As for vintage...it is only popular because it was so unpopular when it was in circulation .
Faraday cage is not useless. Watches get magnetized.

It's not that it is unpopular, it's just that there are only so many people that appreciate it. I find it way more comfortable than the top heavy six digit Subs and GMT's. Just as or more comfortable than the Daytona's. The Milgauss has those down turned lugs, weight is evenly distributed and sits very comfortable on the wrist. Sits on the wrist like an instrument.

I was not a fan of it at all before. It's been slowly growing on me just like the Explorer. There's definitely something special about the Milgauss.

I look upon the Milgauss with fondness. Not least because, after too much wine with lunch, I slipped down a dozen concrete steps in Lisbon; I was a bit bruised, the watch was grazed, but it never missed a beat. These, like most Rolexes, are tough little beasts.
Me, I am more careful these days.
Delightful short story!

I have always thought the Milgauss stood out as quite different than other offerings from Rolex. My personal feeling is that they look a bit cheesy. Perhaps a number of other potential Rolex buyers feel the same way, possibly explaining any perceived unpopularity.

I'm a big fan of both Millgauss models with the green crystal. Hopefully Rolex adds some more dial options for it in the future

I'd imagine because they're an acquired taste. Non-watch people (who I expect buy 90% of the steel sports range) want the Rolex to look like one.

I personally like the milgauss a lot. It is not on my top three wishlist , but if I would get a good deal on a GV I wouldn't hesitate to get it.

No pain, no gain
