Vintage is a mine field. Even when I'm sure, I always get a second opinion to be sure I'm not being blinded by "the shiny new thing" and missing something...
I had a former boss with a good saying: "In God we trust; everyone else must have lots of data." Do your homework, pay via secure means, always have, and use, the inspection period, get a second (or more) opinion(s) before you pull the trigger. All that said, boy is it fun! |

The rare finds that we often hope to find can be a minefield if the watch has passed through multiple hands over the years.
The best vintage deals I've made came from the patience to look for one-owner fully documented models that were serviced without visibly replaced elements. But I never looked for the rarified items that the article covers.

Collecting at that level raises the stakes for counterfeiters. I buy cheaper watches they're not interested in!

Always worth paying a bit more to buy from a trusted seller like Jacek, Shear or Ku. You can't put a price on sleeping well at night.
