1979 GMT Downfalls?

Gents,
I am looking to acquire a birth year(1979) Rolex. At this time I'm not completely settled on the model but I do like the idea of a GMT in root beer. Are there any major downfalls to that era GMT movement? Is there a different model that is undeniably more reliable or trouble free? I am a novice so try to be gentle in your replies and thanks in advance for your input.

If it is a 5 digit model number equipped with a 3075, It's a fine movement. Very accurate and very stable and robust. If it's a 1675 with a 1575 GMT...how can you go wrong....there are MILLIONS of those movements still running beautifully all over the planet.

On the 30xx, the winding bridge has a weak intermediate wheel post that can wear when the watch is let run dry or too long between service intervals. The only way to get that part is to send the watch back to Rolex for service. If it is worn they will replace it IN service.
Other than that the 30xx series movements are bliss. I love them.

Nothing on my 1675 is quickset, which when compared to my datejust is nice to have. That said, I love setting the date the long way when I let my GMT run down. Id go with a 1675 all day long... they add character
