Is the Daytona your favourite of these 4 chronos?

I'm pretty sure this guy out earns most of us in these forums, and he collects Breitlings.

The Chronomat is beautiful but they spoilt recent models a touch with the 'Galactic' bezel and the 'Square' on the dial....in late 2014 they released the Chronomat Airborne models with a traditional bezel and no square on the dial so that's why I bought a 41mm with white dial and 44mm with black dial. Both very different watches for different occasions:

And this is the normal Chronomat with galactic bezel and the square:

IMO the Daytona trumps the others.

I would echo some of the other posts about the Speedy. As you are fortunate to have a large wrist I think you would rock one of these very easily

Or maybe ad the white dial DaytonaC

I've tried to make myself like Breitling, but it just isn't there for me. I've always liked Tag, but they change styles too frequently and I don't care for the increase in size with their most recent offerings. So, Daytona for me. Too bad for me because it doesn't look like I will get one anytime soon.

Breitling B01 is a stellar chrono movement, and most of us know the importance that Breitling played in developing the first automatic chronographic movement, their importance around aviation watches, etc, etc, however, I'd say that today (for the last 10-20 years) the brand has been somewhat mismanaged. For many of us, too many Breitling models are too big, or too blingy, or... and the 2nd hand value is troublesome.

Having said that, I love some of the modern Breitlings, e.g. the Navitimer 01 in 43mm, bought right at 30% discount on a leather strap, is a great watch to own. The Chronomats chronos you own are great daily beaters, so are the Avenger series, etc.

I'd say be happy with your Breitlings, don't worry about what other people think or say about them.

It's also worth mentioning that the 41mm has a date and is 300m water resistant and the 44mm has a date and is actually 500m water resistant.

Definitely the Daytona by a mile out of those four but my all time favorite chrono is still the Speedmaster Professional moon watch. Nice collection by the way.

There is something called freedom of speech and even if this involves someone openly expressing opinions contrary to yours you have to accept it.

And in this case is Breitling in my opinion an insult to Swiss watch industry even if it does not belong up there with the haute horologie brands.

Their aesthetics are too cluttered, busy, untastefull, elaborate in a wrong way. They might attract the attention of nouveau riche that need to show off or younger audiences that feel they get more bang for buck with all this bling but I believe these contraptions...

well its the most expensive on there...by like 5x. But yes overall the Daytona is numero uno for me, until you put it up against AP Royal Oaks Offshores.

I had my share of Breitlings at the beginning of my WIS road, but for some reason I lost any desire for them. Nothing wrong with the watches, I guess my taste evolved on a different direction.

I think the Daytona is a nice looking watch, but it also true that a lot of the appeal is the created hype and the price retention that this watch has

Cheers

Depends, do you want a watch now or in 6 or 7 years? Or if buying second hand, do you want just the Daytona or all three of the others? I'm not knocking the Daytona, I'm in the market for one, but it is a shame that some people choose to deride others' preferences.
For me, aesthetically I prefer the Navitimer B01 which I think quality wise is on a par with a Daytona.

I would have expected the forum to be a little more polite as many of us collect more than one brand.
Many great horological houses have some polarizing designs. Breitling as a aviator watch has many themes and sizes designed primarily for pilots. Some of those designs are not going to be for everyone but even AP and Rolex has designs that many find questionable for them. Many like Lambos, Ferrari, McLaren, and Porsche. Those are very polarizing designs as well but I would doubt any one would go up to any of those owners at a cars n coffee and call their car ugly. I would expect the same etiquette and decorum on a Rolex forum as we all spend a lot of time and money in our hobby/passions.

I think I'd pick the Daytona. I do like the Breitlings a lot ... I have one (see my sig) ... Breitling has an extensive and impressive history with chronos and that shouldn't be discounted.
