Medical question for the Doctors or Nurses

Is this something to be concerned about? It's going on 4 days I believe and has raised a bit and become more painful. I thought it might be an ingrown hair or spider bite but now I'm not so sure. I'd appreciate your professional opinions, thank you.

I hope the picture is clear enough.

I'm not a doctor, but I spend a lot of time in bugland and get a lot of bites. It looks like a spider bite. They are all poisonous, some moreso than others.

Did it itch at all before it started to hurt?

No itching at all.

I'm guessing you don't remember being stung or bitten, and there wasn't any immediate pain.

On the first day I woke up and noticed it, figured it was a spider bite while sleeping.

Spider bites are high on my list to seek medical attention, just to be on the safe side. Inflammation, warm to touch, degree of redness and area, toxins, cellulitis (need antibiotics for cellulitis) - my concerns. Due mostly to the allergies I possess.

I am only referring you to this website - nothing to do with an actual diagnosis. I have used a couple of these methods from time to time, even for mosquito bites...

http://www.top10homeremedies.com/hom...der-bites.html

FYI, I could not stay away from a doc if that photo depicted the condition on my arm...
Stay well,

DM

Squeeze the hell out of it! Then put a bunch of Neosporin on it.

It's likely an infected hair follicle. Wash area with soap and water, and use hot compress on the area 3-4 times per day. It should be able to be popped like a big pimple after a few series of hot compresses. If inflammation and redness does not resolve after 1 or 2 more days seek medical attention.

Between squeezing the hell out of it, and the neosporin. Clean it well with some rubbing alcohol or peroxide......

Another possibility - bedbugs (nasty critters that proliferate when laundry and room cleaning protocols are subpar).

Don't seek medical advice on a watch forum. Go see your doctor.

Aren't bedbugs those things that one would find in his bed about 400 years ago? With the hygiene of the western world I don't think anyone gets bitten by them anymore.

It's actually on my chest, but after Mon's nipple comment I cropped the picture.

Don't kid yourself. These parasites have a way of showing up even in one's home. Regular laundering and vacuuming can keep them in check.

As for the hygiene of 'the western world', there still are plenty of fleabag motels/roadside inns currently in existence in the United States.

And make sure to take video and put on YouTube. Apparently, people like watching others pop things on their body.

I clean my sheets every week, vacuuming a few times a week. No way those buggers are gonna pay me a visit!

You don't need to sleep there Bas, you just need to have friends over that did. Or visit someone who has been infested. They get into people's clothes, then migrate to furniture. Nasty little buggers and difficult to get rid of once in your home.
