Is this a 16610LV Flat4 Mk1?

Need your kind help please...does this look like a legit Mk1 Flat4 16610LV? I believe it is a F8**** serial. Thanks!

This is a Mark 1 dial, but the insert is not a flat 4.
F8xxx would be too late for a flat 4 insert, if I recall correctly.

Now, whether or not you should care about the flat 4 hype is another story :)

Although the money is relevant I'd rather go for a newer full set and save 8k. Its still a 50th anniversary model.

Me two. I'd rather a set from the last year produced in the best condition possible. Flat four means nothing to me personally, and I won't pay more for one.

This is correct, I have a D serial flat 4 that came with the watch new from AD.

That F8 serial number means you may be looking at a MKIII watch. MKIII which had the MKI dial but appeared with two different bezels. Bezel 3 which was more lime in color and bezel 4 darker green in color and both pointed four. It is believed F54 was the end of the true MKI watch. So you may be looking at a combination correct MKIII.

I do like the fat/flat 4 look better, hype aside. I also heard about hype regarding serif vs. non-serif aka "bertolli"? Looks like mine is one of those too?

F8 is early production and should have the papers and not card......I have f5 flat 4 which is all original

He's offered it for 16k. I haven't really kept up with the Kermit prices and don't know about variation within Kermits all that much and wouldn't tell Mk 1 from Mk 2, etc. But I don't think you're getting any Kermit for 8k.

Yes.. I've noticed asking prices creeping up to16k for full sets lately and also noticed one for 16,183 or something like that. I'm always checking on those and 5513s.

Couldn’t agree with you more. I do have a V serial number but to me that was whatever. I just wanted a clean watch with box, papers, and all original. It took me 3 months to find the right watch within my budget.

I am brand new to the Forum, and joined it mostly because I am trying to figure out exactly what I have . In 2005 I purchased a 50th Anniv Kermit, with a serial # that starts with D091. I have all the original kit- receipt, Rolex original papers, box, etc. Recently, I entertained the thought of selling it, to get a YachtMaster I like. When I showed it to friends, I was told it is a 'Flat 4', which 2 weeks ago, I knew nothing about. I stress, I am a watch lover, not expert, and that is why I have joined this Forum, so I can learn. At any rate, I have been told that there is 'no such animal', and 'that it has a service bezel', etc, etc, as there is no way that it can be a Flat 4 with a D serial #. I have no clue to be honest. I only know that I bought it new, from Jareds, in '05, had it serviced by Rolex Watch USA in 2008, which I also have documentation for. It has only been on my wrist, or in my safe, and if anyone can help me with this question, I will be very grateful. I am not an expert, but i would check your paperwork from the service at Rolex. They may have changed out your Flat 4 bezel and installed a new replacement bezel. Good luck

This is not completely correct. There was an overlap of both flat 4’s and pointed 4’s in the late F serial to early D serial Kermits. The OP’s F8 serial Kermit with pointed 4 is correct. I also have an F8 serial Kermit that I have owned since new with a pointed 4.

from one picture, this one looks to me a Mark3 16lv
after F46 (someone may say F53), up to F96, the bezel insert changes (slim four and bold fonts) and the dial is the same placed for the mark1
So, mark3 is a mark1 dial with a new bezel inlay ..
I believe that the serial F8 is correct for a mark3 ...
