If you hover over the links in that "PM scam" email, you'll see they do NOT go to this forum.

While reading the PM, there is a red triangle with an exclamation point in it at the top right of the post. Click on the triangle and type a message that will be sent to all the moderators. One of them will deal with the problem.

I personally like to talk to people on WhatsApp or iMsg. That filters tons of scammers as they use numbers that are provided online For example: from google voice, tons of Apps.
Scammers will most likely not use iMessage as that becomes obvious that they are using their personal and original number.

I got the same email. The website is weak sauce. The dude didn't even have the right date set up or copyright.

It almost makes me want to ping request his site with multiple servers and fill in false information to overload his logs just to be a pain in his butt.

Did you open it? I'd suggest you change your password to be safe.

I did, but took the precautions needed. I'm a software engineer by trade, so it makes me curious to figure out how they've engineered the scam then how to be an absolute pain in their backside.

Yet another phishing scam attempt...

Hi,

Thanks for the heads up. I received a scam message today 10-28-2020. It was very distributing, (do you want to have some fun with me) etc. Hope others don’t open it.
