Tudor Tiger? likes or dislikes?

Ive been entertaining the idea of picking up a Tudor BB Heritage sub, but I decided to step up and buy a Rolex 14060. Knowing that every time I looked at the Tudor I would regret not buying the sub So while searching I ran across the Tudor Tiger. I think its a great looking watch. Can you guys post some pictures of yours and tell me your likes and dislikes? Does this piece stand on its own or is it just a Daytona wanna be?

Thanks

I actually think they will be a very collectible watch in about 10 years -ish.
Lot's of weird variants and at some point people will forget who the TIGER is on the dial and just think 'cool Tudor that says TIGER in red...'
I have been slimming down on watches, but have thought for a long minute that these TIGER Tudors will have their day in the sun down the line.

I love the Tiger chrono with the exception of "TIGER" being written on the dial. I prefer the pre-Tiger Prince Date models for that reason. It's a great looking watch and I like the presentation of the subdials which allows for the date window at 3 o'clock.

It is no more a Daytona wanna be than a Daytona is a Speedmaster wanna be. Totally different watches that happen to have a chronograph function.

I like them. I've had 4 or 5 over the years in various dial colors and configurations. The only one left is my steel/gold model on leather.

I think it will be the pre-Tigers that will be the most collectible.

I can’t get over the 7750 movement which the rotor spins like crazy and makes the watch feel cheap to me.....

Whats the downside of the 7750 movement? Does it feel loose inside the case?

I agree that pre-Tiger is the way to go. Even better, look for the earlier examples with the Rolex bracelet and crown.

Big Blocks have the same 7750 movement inside. I wouldn't say feels cheap, but you do feel the rotor spin like made sometimes. I used to move my wrist quite fast in a motion and you could feel rotor spin like a top inside the watch movement.

I have considered them many times but never pulled the trigger. I have owned big blocks and you can feel the rotor move at times so I understand the prior comments.

I think the red, green and yellow colored dials are interesting, something different if you already have a lot of watches.

They have already moved up in price but still affordable compared to the big blocks.

I've owned a few, but don't think they'll really "pop" in value like some people expect due simply to the proportions. They are so tall, and in my comparison between the pre-Tiger and Tiger, the Tiger seemed to actually wear larger due to the case shape.

If someone was asking me about vintage Tudors that still have runway to increase in the future (which...nobody did), I think it's the Mk2 Monte Carlo (and specifically the references 7159/7169). The case is much slimmer than the Big Block, it has a better movement and more intricate dial than the Mk1 Monte Carlos, and many haven't survived in great condition which increases the relative scarcity. To still be able to pick them up for $13-15K in good condition seems like a relative bargain compared to most other options in that price range.

I do too. Big Block over Tiger all day.

I actually like how you can feel the rotor spinning if you flick your wrist. That's an interesting feature of the watch for me.

The Big Blocks really don’t wear as big as their name suggests. If you want such a masculine watch I presume you have a man-sized wrist to pull it off And the rotor whizz is really kinda cool — it doesn’t do it all the time and requires a special kind of wrist movement and then it suddenly feels “alive”. The 7750 is not to be feared.

I didn’t mean to take this thread OT... And just because every thread needs pics...

I think the last cheap sport models are the Tudor hydronauts, and some say tiger on the dial too. The other is the Tudor hydro 1200. No tiger on that, but it should !

Any excuse to post my non Tiger Albino 79280P!

Absolutely love this watch; it's size, looks, wrist feel, reliability. Runs like a tank. Love the rotor whizz.

Personally the 7750 rotor wobble never really bothered me. And it's honestly a very nice watch that stands it's own against a Daytona...totally different vibe.

Especially with the 79270 that's got a rotating bezel.

Dislike the the individual. Love the watch. Prefer the watch without the brand. Especially since he dropped the endorsement for Tag.

This. And some of the silver sunburst dials famously take on a delightful pinkish hue over time if you're lucky. I got lucky.

I like the Tudor chronos.
Not got a Tiger, just the earlier Big Block (79180 from 1995)

I like the Tudor Tiger and would buy a clean example that was complete a fairly priced. A fun watch.

Tudor Tiger? likes or dislikes?

When in the history of Rolex or Tudor has a splash of red writing on the dial hurt the value? Lol

I added a Rolex crown and 93150 clasp to mine and it’s my perfect multifunctional travel sports watch.
