Is this 6594 real?

I came across this for sale ad of what they say is a 1947’ 6594 serial 253810. The only reason I’m questioning authenticity is Because the other 6594’s I’ve seen say “Meritus“ above the word “rotor”, and the Lume seems very bright for a watch that old... thanks!

Poorly refinished dial at best. I don’t know much about that reference, but whomever did that dial did it sloppily by applying paint over and under indices even including the coronet. Wrong lume material as well. That is a really oddly refinished dial.

You can't be absolutely sure without more photos, but the watch could certainly be legit, and if you're in the mood for a project (i.e. finding a replacement dial), you can pursue it.

BTW, I did get a laugh out of seeing that dial, so thanks for posting. ;-)

It's a shame that the dial was refinished.

It should say Meritus, as that is the model name for this reference.

It is also likely that it is not '47, but mid 50's. If the case back is original it would likely have a date stamp to verify.

Ask for s pic of the caseback. I’m guessing this is a likely a tudor. 2700, I’d nope out of there and off them $600. Unless the case I still gold

I'd also ask for a high res photo of the movement before shelling out $2700.

You'd need to provide a LOT more information to get even a rough valuation. One photo of a gold-colored case and a re-painted dial isn't much to go on.

the listing is on Etsy by a lady who sells mostly women’s jewelry. I’m not sure she has any other info. She has a couple of pics listed. I keep trying to resize a pic of the case back, but it’s still saying it’s too big.

If she sells jewelry, then she should at least be able to tell you if the case is solid gold, and whether it's 9k, 14k, 18k etc. I'm willing to consider taking a chance on a watch without full information, but the price has to be really good to make it worth the risk.

Edit: A quick google suggests that these cases are often gold-plated, in which case it's obviously a no-go.
