Should I part exchange my 16013 datejust for a tudor black bay steel
I like my datejust it was my first Rolex and have owned it for 6 years, I have a very active lifestyle and cringe at the thought of the bi-metal bracelet stretching and the crystal scratching. so long story short i've been looking at tool watches and the Tudor black bay steel looks pretty tough, i've chose it because the steel bezel doesn't have any colors that would fade.
What's your thoughts??static1.squarespace.com.jpg |

It's your call. I wouldn't. I'm wearing mine today. The 16013 is a great watch. The plastic crystal can be polished if scratched. Bracelet stretch can be minimized by proper cleaning and fit. I'd personally not trade a classic Rolex for a readily available modern Tudor.

You caught me with the `tool watch` expression. I would not exactly call the 16013 that.
(However it is my favorite watch, and I would never let it go). |

I wouldn't
If at all possible keep the DJ and add the BB Steel.

Buy a Tudor if you want, but keep the DJ. Wishing I hadn’t sold mine years ago.

It's your call, me I would keep the DJ. Save up for the Black Bay and have both.

There was an affordable $2500ish Steel on the for sale section. Cheap enough to own both.

DJ is classic, keep it. Add BB if you can. If not there are plenty of tool watches out there at affordable prices that support an active, not-worrying-about-my-watch lifestyle.

I think a better option while not downgrading would be the Rolex 40mm explorer 2 which can be had for under 5k in the used market. Great everyday beater watch. I would trade my dj for that watch in your situation.

No, as said above: never downgrade. Also, parting with your first Rolex is something you'll probably regret. The DJ is a classic.
