Sea Dweller 116600 Sightings?

Anybody spotted these at their respective ADs by chance? I know it's slim to none, but thought I'd least see. I'm kind of tired of waiting to see if the Sub gets a revamp, especially if I could find this piece NIB (at MSRP and not the premium Greys are asking).

*Just to reiterate, I'm solely speaking about the Sea Dweller 116600. Not the pre-ceramic 16600, nor the Deepsea 116660, nor the SD43 126600

If nothing pops up, I'll hang out until Fall and recheck prices. I'm thinking/hoping Rolex supply increases on current models, so Grey Market will simmer down. Prices are too loony right now

It’s a discontinued modern reference: only about 2 1/2 years in production and the last 40mm Sea Dweller. Trust me when I tell you the prices will not simmer down. Buy now or pay more later; you will not find one at an AD. Good luck.

I learned from my AD than once a model is discontinued, they have to send whatever stock they have back to Rolex.

Fact is, these were selling brand new in box for $8500 last January. Not to mention, it's come down a little since the initial spike. Still though, the watch is up 50% in price in 18 months....part of that is simply due to the entire watch market being hot right now. I mean look at the price of Subs & GMTs, it's crazy. I'm thinking at least 20% off by fall. Who knows for sure though, this is just my guess.

Last time I saw one at AD was early 2017. Small chance if some still lingers at ADs by now.

Not sure how many sold for full price, but in the middle east they were selling for less than sub dates, whereas the last five digit subs sold at a large premium.

116520's were also easily available at list. Not so with the ceramic daytona.

Yeah exactly, I just can’t stomach paying above MSRP for a piece that was so far below MSRP just last year.

I looked in Athens Greece, Grand Cayman, Toronto and Amsterdam for an 116600 earlier this year, no joy, had to buy from an internet seller.

Sd4k

Hello,

I bought mine new from my AD last January. Walked into my local AD and they had no subs but TWO SD4K ! I bought one and my brother bought the other one on the spot. We lucked out. Apparently, they had a 3rd one at another location as well. But we are in April . Would be hard to believe it they still have it. Good luck

That is nonessense. I’ve seen lingering discontinued models at various points.

Agreed. I purchased mine from my AD in April of '17. The watch had been discontinued and replaced with the 43mm for weeks.

Kind of ironic seeing this thread...literally just bought a brand new 116600 out of the case at my AD yesterday.

See, they do exist. I knew my efforts weren’t for not. I think I might get lucky, I’ll try for a couple months.
