There are some really beautiful photos on this thread, congratulations to everyone who has got a platinum Daytona, I'm very envious.

Can anyone tell me how the colour of the platinum bracelet links compare to those of the white gold version please. I really like the colour of the brushed WG links, are the platinum links noticeably brighter?

Thanks again.

I don't own a WG Rolex, but have tried on a WG Daytona. I think the cast is much more yellow than platinum. Yes, it's a subtle yellow cast. No, you won't confuse it for yellow gold, not by a long shot. But I do believe it's pretty obvious if you see WG next to platinum or SS.

I own a WG sub, Platona, and many SS Rolex watches. Side by side, there is a very noticeable difference between them. Platinum is very bright. WG has a slight yellow hue. Very slight, but you can see it.

A few months in now, and I have to say that I’m really surprised. I knew I liked the watch before I bought it. But, it has commanded way more wrist time than I expected, and I’m not really sure why.

I have 2 friends / co-workers who are really into watches and know what it is. They live 2300 miles away. No one in my normal circle has noticed or said a word. It’s totally under the radar. It’s not the yellow/rose gold I’ve favored lately. And yet...

If you can scrounge an extra $50k and have any interest at all, I say do it. You won’t be disappointed.

It's easy to see why Dr. Tom is the mascot of the Platona on TRF (and dare I say worldwide infamy due to this). Beautiful.
