Icon20 Ceramic Daytona Production

I talked to AD and they said Rolex has not shipped them any SS Daytona's for the past few months. Has anyone here heard otherwise or received their Daytona?

It depends on where they are in the US. I could speculate the east and west coast get it frequently...

AD told me in June they didn’t expect to see any Daytonas in the southeast US the rest of the year.

ADs only give it to their top clients. I have seen many Daytona-C at gray dealers. $17-19k a pop. BNIB. Stickers still on. If you have the Coin, Khajiit has the wares.

Top clients are then most probably the grey dealers :)
With so many BNIB, they are AD's best customers.

Daytona comes in, one of the TSs buys it and flips it for profit.

AD gets a new daytona, oh look, xyz has spent $100k with us this year, he gets it.
TS buys it, flips it in minutes here, ready for the next one.

And so it goes :)

At least that's what makes sense to me.

All the ones available for sale must be coming from SOMEWHERE, right?

For every Daytona that a TS gets they are also likely being forced to buy a few slow movers with it. This helps the AD move their inventory and Rolex is the greatest enabler of the TS as much as they seem to dislike them.

Lol yeah, I think so too, grey dealers are usually VIPs, they help clean up the inventory.

Don't ADs only get one Ceramic Daytona a few/several months anyway?

At one point Rolex Boutique in NY was getting 3-4 ceramic SS daytonas a month for most of 2017 and late 2016. However, since summer that rate has slowed along with many of the SS models too

I was told that Rolex slowed the distribution of SS models by an AD. They have not delivered SS Daytona's over the past few months and they don't expect to get one until the end of the year.

I was at my local AD yesterday, and he had just received a white one. Natch it was spoken for, but I got to hold it and get my grubby finger prints all over it.

Honestly, I am on the list, and if I were to get it I'd just flip it. It does nothing for me.

Yup, the ceramic 'tona and SS SkyD will be discontinued at the end of 2017.

Remember, you heard it here first.... on Roller Derby.

I am in Canada and got the call from Bucherer in Bern that a white dial Daytona was available. Bucherer has. Seven year waiting list and has stopped to take names.

6-7 years seems to be the normal waiting list these days. And this draws a lot of attention and is very good for the brand of Rolex, so they will not try to stop it or make more Daytona C’s to cause inflation.

Daytona C from AD is an good investment from the starting point for many years. And it has also certain status to have your own name in Daytona C warranty card these days

Got the Black one in September and my White one finally came in October after waiting 574 days after I gave a deposit of $2,500 to be on the list with my AD.

I'm surprised my AD did not file a restraining order against me because I was constantly asking him for an ETA on my watch but he came thru for me.

My AD has only had four SS Daytona’s since the ceramic model was released. They go many months without getting one in. I wasn’t high enough on the list to get a call. Not surprising as I’ve only purchased one from them.

A photo from a grey dealer here in China. A white Daytona is selling for USD18-20k. No wonder there is a shortage worldwide.

They don’t only sell 116500s to top clients. You can get one even if you have no relationship with an ad. They are not that hard to obtain - retail or second hand. People believe these urban myths and then end up buying them for second hand piracy prices. A half deposit in March 2016 got me my first one during the last week of May 2016.

I was able to get one over the phone from an ad in a state that I haven’t been to in 5 years. Sending a $200 Ruth Chris gift card as a “thanks” for the Daytona also netted me a call for the first steel Skydweller they received.

It’s all about being nice to people. People don’t want to hear it, but it’s true. It’s not that hard. Be quick and be nice.

With that said, of the four ads that I have some sort of relationship with, they haven’t received one in many months.

Total madness. And apart those watches no longer have the official Rolex guarantee.

The most real comment and shows us the reality. Agree 100% I insist this comment is the reality of what happens. In my city are full of Daytonas in the windows of the gray dealers
