Submariner or GMT Black Ceramic LN: Which do you wear more? why?
Hello TRF gang, hope everyone is well & safe amidst crazy Covid-19 conditions. My first Rolex was a GMT Ceramic LN back in 2013. I was ecstatic to be in the Rolex family. Fast forward to many watches and 2018, I picked up a No Date Sub C with the glide lock clasp. Fast forward to 2020 and making a few friends on TRF and learning about other Rolex models, I came across an unworn, AD safe kept 2020 LN GMT all black so I pulled the trigger. After the receiving the watch & admiring it, I am finding that it is sitting in the safe unworn with the bezel on as I keep reaching for my No Date Sub. Anyone else ever had this issue? where you reach for the "one" and don't really wear anything else? Can you rekindle a romance with your first Rolex or can a new one really be the "new one".

I have the Subdate Ceramic and the GMT2C black bezel. I never wear the Sub as I use the GMT functionality all the time. The all black GMT is for people who like the understated looks of the Sub but with the functionality of a GMT. If you have no need for the GMT function then the Sub might be better for you. I prefer the Subs bracelet with brushed centre links but for me the GMT is better in every other way. (Actually the GMT should have smaller bezel numbers).

I sold my non ceramic sub no date for a GMT. Albeit I do itch for a non date ceramic GMT, instead I will probably just get a new bracelet for the sub to be rid of the PCL's.

You bought an 116710LN in 2013, and then you bought another 116710LN in 2020??
You have two identical watches? |

I like the GMT more for its complication, but I have a slight preference for the sub in appearance. I think I wear both roughly equally.

I've never liked the bezel of a GMT because it is unbalanced IMO.
The left side of the bezel looks "heavier" than the right side because of the numbers.

Between the two LN's I'd wear the sub more. But BLNR vs Sub, I wear my BLNR more.

I assume the OP sold the first GMT, from the context of his post.
For what it's worth, I have two Subs, LN and LV, and sold the BLNR I picked up after a few months because I always picked one of those over it. I'm just a sub guy i guess. |

Having both the Sub (No Date) and GMT LN, I wear the GMT everyday. While working and with family in different time zones, I use the GMT function almost daily and also refer to the date.
The Sub is for weekend or vacation when knowing the date isn't as important. However, I do prefer the numbers on the Sub rather than the fatter numbers on the GMT.

Have both. Looking to sell the LN soon due to lack of wrist time.

I think you should sell the sub and get a 16’ GMT LN. More of a fit with the collection.

To me, GMT equals bi color bezel. Sub wins for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I prefer the way my Sub looks, but now wear my GMT LN much more often (date, GMT). The Sub's become my vacation & weekend watch.

I love the LN GMT over any current model in the collection, but I don't ponder over it's future value and it's been through hell and back

Probably doesn't help you but I try and spend time with both watches as much as possible, because I can. |

GMT LN because I’m a commercial pilot and it’s my tool watch. It gets used a lot.
I don’t own a submariner, but I do have a brushed sub bracelet on my GMT. Perfection. |

I had the GMTc and traded it for a (no date) Sub, which I prefer in almost every respect (the only downside being it sits slightly higher on my wrist).
It feels like the tool watch it is supposed to be rather than the shiny semi-dress watch that the GMT has become.

I'm probably in the minority but for me it is the LN as it ticks so many more boxes......
