if i have the choice to choose plexiglass or Saphire at same price I ll go Plexi. If i can save $100 or more by going Saphire I'll go sapphire

Out of interest, why are so many people adamant that 372 is wrong to have a sapphire crystal, when another Paneristi favourite - PAM 127 - has it?

You are trying to use logic. Nothing is logical about collecting luxury watches.

You are comparing apples and oranges in the Panerai world...the sapphire in a 127 is a domed sapphire that starts out flat at the bezel and curves to a dome...the sapphire on a 372 is raised off the bezel and has a comleltelyndoffeeent look and feel...

IMHO, the two best crystals are domed sapphire and raised plexi...raised sapphire doesn’t do it for me

Ok, but it's still crystal. One of the main arguments for plexi on 372 is that it makes the watch more historically correct and yet I couldn't find a single comment of that nature on 127.

Nothing wrong with the sapphire crystal. The plexi just feels more vintage which is the principle design cue of the 372. Then again, it has a sapphire caseback...

totally different watches at different times....

the 372 with the plexi is just 'right' imho, but as i always say, buy what you like and wear what you want.

I like the sapphire, I have always wanted one. I would certainly go with the sapphire.

I like the domed sapphire as they’re more durable (and I’m clumsy)
