Mayor's: Lenox Mall ATL

Hi all,
I stopped by the Mayor's AD this morning as I was in the area.

They have a ton of DJ, two tones etc. in the cases. Only two sport models were a sub date and TT 40mm Yachtmaster.

I asked to look at a TT rose gold/steel white stick dial DJ and the rose gold/steel brown dial 40mm Yachtmaster, I was offered both of them with no history and showing interest. If anyone is looking, go check them out.

I asked to see a 1908 or WG 36mm DD even if not avail if they had them in the back. They said they didn't have either.

I wanted to try them on since I am considering them as my next watch, along with the tt ym. DD is a stretch and probably not realistic for me right now, but did want to see one on my wrist.

Currently Im leaning towards a TT 40mm YM, black dial. The brown was absolutely stunning in person and on my wrist. I prefer the black dial however, and I'm a coupel months away from being able to pull the trigger.

Sorry no pics, but wanted to put this out there for any ATL board members who might be looking.

Best......J.

Didn't know the white dial was an option on the RG TT DJs.... Interesting.

Agreed.

Butttt the bottom barrel was leveraged to build a history to be able to purchase the good stuff. Of the bottom barrel is piling up it could mean ppl aren’t buying the slop to get the good stuff anymore

There’s really no reason to do this anymore. The watch market is going down slowly by the month. People are getting SS subs both black and green bezel as first time purchases now. Only hard models to get are GMT and Daytona and there’s no shortage of those on secondary market where despite desperate attempts at appearances by the secondary dealers the prices of those are going down by the month. Don’t fall for the artificial hype. Market is going to continue to fall.

Pretty arrogant response, especially since it sounds like this is what the OP is looking for specifically. I’m looking to get a Datejust in 36mm next. Or potentially a 36 Explorer. I don’t like two tone either (or anything gold for that matter). But I wouldn’t call a 8-10k watch “bottom of the barrel” ever.
I personally think that Rolex can keep all their giant square modern divers and that illegible Daytona that everyone is crazy about. There are always other brands also if Rolex continues on the path they’re on.
