escrow service ..good or bad idea??

I was wondering if anyone on the forum has any feedback on using an escrow service for a sale. I'm selling a ss sub and a couple of offers have been made via an escrow service..I'm not keen on the idea of someone having my watch and then deciding on authorizing the release of the funds...not too exp. on selling as some on here but JJ knew there would be someone who would steer me right...thanks to all!!

Be carefull,

Only use an Escrow site like the one on Ebay that you have a direct link to.Do not use a link supplied by the buyer.

Better still don't use one. They are expensive and filled with traps.Anyone serious will pay how you stated you wanted payment,if you didn't state how you prefered payment I could understand.

Always before you release your watch, check that you have clear funds in your nominated account. Not an email from Ebay,Paypal,Western Union etc,but confirmation from your trusted source that funds are clear.

I know Paypal sometimes can take a couple of days to clear but just wait before you send.

In short dont trust no one.Sad but safe.

Would agree with Aaron, when Escrow first started to appear thought it
sounded great,But the devious sellers out there even made up false Escrow web sites,to trap you and steal your money.
It can be quite expensive,so be very careful, have used Paypal several times with out a problem.
