Best place to buy a new 5712R for UK based peson?
Hi Guys,
I would like to purchase a new 5712R but I'm not sure of the best place to source the watch at the best price? Happy to travel to collect it and would intend to pay via bank transfer. Is there a waiting list on this model at the moment? I've tried looking at local Patek ADs in the UK and I can't find this model in stock. This may be their lack of focus on Patek or perhaps because they are difficult to find. Just looking for the help on the experts on this forum to help me find the best way forward :) Thanks very much for reading! James |

Thanks, will call those three dealers.
Do you think it would be worth contacting any European Dealers? |

I bought an AP ROO from this shop in Knightsbridge and was happy with the watch and servicE. They are called H&Y Jewellery.
Take a look on their site, they have various Pateks brand new. |

There is quite a new one on Watchfinder, still within warranty I think.

5712 is relatively easy to get hold of - I would personally by from a UK AD over a grey seller.
PM me if you need help tracking one down at an AD. |

Thanks for your replies - I tried calling H&Y to ask about their one, but there was no answer. Will try again tomorrow.
Also visited Wempe as I was around New Bond Street area. They checked with Patek whilst I was in their showroom as they didn't have one in stock. The advice was that they might not get one until August/September but they thought it might take until 2017. That's quite a wait! Can anyone also confirm current UK RRP on one of these? Wempe said the current list price was around £28,900 (I can't recall the exact figure from the brochure, but it was I think a few pounds around this level). If I am buying new, is there a material difference between buying from an AD or from a reseller using grey stock, presumably like H&Y? |

Anyone manage to work a discount on their 5712r or know if it's possible? I'm really thinking about buying one.

Does anyone think there is any possibility of ever getting a discount off list for a 5711 with blue dial? Or am I in cloud cuckoo land given the length of the waiting lists?

Takuya has a bnib sealed 5712R in the FS section for a good price. Maybe he can ship overseas, wouldn't hurt to ask.

You can get a blue dial 5711 in the uk without too much waiting. I've been told by two ADs they have ones available this year. I am picking one up next week and only started trying to get one a few weeks ago. I am paying list though.

My local AD has a 2 year waiting list. Haven't done a massive amount of ringing around other dealers though so I guess each area is different. Can't imagine an AD discount on the 5711 to be honest. |

Yes I had no luck with your local AD. One found one AD in the South and they had a white 5711 in stock and a blue by end of year roughly.

Oh really?! That's really good news! I'd like to think the relationship I have with my AD is pretty good. My assumption of no discount came from the fact there's such a demand? Wasn't an educated guess. More of a stab in the dark. |

I just said that there is the chance to get a discount from an AD.
Anything else would just be a wild guess as I know neither your AD nor your relationship with him. If the AD wants to grant you a discount you will know soon enough. |

As for all of the talk about waiting lists for the 5711, I know one member here that waited no longer than a week or so to get his, so I'm not one to believe all of the hype surrounding these so called waiting lists. I'd tend to think these waiting lists are more geared around the ADs wanting to move the stock they have on hand rather than selling a watch they don't have at the moment.

Well someone is sure hiding them. I have never even seen a 5711 blue and in the last 6 weeks have visited AD's in Dubai, Kuwait, Hong Kong, Seoul and London. However a Daytona SS I found 2 a penny in Seoul and Dubai and fell over the black dial 5205's in Hong Kong there were so many. PP may make more watches but I think look at the composition. My view (imperfect as I am not a fan) is that AP pretty makes one watch and just adds colors and just the model number but they all the same. PP have from the calatrava to the gondonolo to the Twenty Four and more. I believe at least 12500 watches are quartz alone and I think the demand for PP is probably stronger. I will be in Florida for June / July and looking forward to the abundance of sought after models to view.

Patek limits their production of steel watches. That is fact. Regardless of what total production is, the steel watches are a small percentage and will always be that way. HS has repeated this many times. Based on how the 5960 1a has performed would it be surprising to anyone if they limit production even more?

I think the 5960 1A is very unpopular and every AD I've been to in the last few months has one for sale. I think Patek was hoping for younger buyers but that hasn't happened. I like it and have owned it, but based on this forum and other reviews I've read everybody except me hates the bracelet. They can be had for 15% to 20% off and still don't move.
