Sure it was Travolta? I thought it was Alec Baldwin who I saw asking how to get one. Note to personal assistant...get up and buy me new Kurono.

It's on Shopify so it won't crash. Their servers scale.

Anyone knows where to service Kurono watches? Do you send back to Japan? I understand it is using miyota movement, or can this movement be easily serviced by local watch dealers?

Delivery is now estimated to 6m-1year due to increased press coverage. We can all thank Hodinkee for that...

Haha - yep! Saw that this morning too. And it's funny - I like this watch, but I already have a dress-y watch, I've also got the Ming 17.09 burgundy coming in, and I don't really want another. But I keep seeing the articles and the Instagram posts and the FOMO kicks in. I'm still sitting this one out, but it is pretty exciting to watch from the sidelines.

Good luck to all that's picking this one up! Looking forward to the pics when they arrive.

Still going to go for it, but hoping using a Canadian card but US shipping address doesn't cause any issues.

I thought it was going to be under-the-radar of most of the mainstream which is part of the attraction of low volume, 'insider' brands like this. But these days, once a pretty picture gets on instagram, it can go viral.

The Ming hype train was out in full force with their last release and like you I have my deposit down for the burgundy - it will be my first Ming. But am also considering this one too, as I like the 'don't confuse it with salmon' ibis-inspired colour and it's a very different vibe from the Ming.

It's a similar price to what I paid for my Nomos Orion and would probably wear it on the same sort of occasions. The Orion is an in house Nomos movement but is quite heavily 'based on' an old ETA geartrain and, like this one, doesn't have an open caseback to admire anyway - so I don't think I would feel short-changed knowing this watch has a Miyota inside.

What order number are you guys? Shopify does them sequentially and it's hard to bypass without real dev, so I doubt he changed the default. :)

62xx. Took a while to pay. Something to look forward to.
Worked out beautifully because I wanted a little color variety. Blue is way over represented in the collection.

I talked myself into it while writing the post above...

#68xx here. I had everything set up to pay within three minutes and then my bank rejected it as a precaution with a message that they'd try to contact me within another 5 minutes to check if it was a genuine transaction. No time to wait for a 'maybe in 6 minutes', so after scrambling around for another card, fortunately that one went through. I'd had the same experience with Ming's 10-minute window recently.
