Kurono Seiji

Nice looking watch. Convoluted buying process.

It is a nice looking watch. 37mm seems like a size that can work for gents and ladies

Only females can purchase but according to Kurono it can be worn by men and women

I believe it's great that the brand is actively promoting a larger involvement of women in the hobby. Good on them.

Great looking piece too!

Kurono Seiji

Great piece - they are getting destroyed on social for this though.

Personally I like the offering - just for women to encourage and hopefully get this in the hands of collectors enthusiasts.

The color though being the offerings from Rolex OP, Groenfeld etc is more unisex than anything.

Confusing as hell buying process and I'm getting turned off with the variations of dial colors ("limited") they have coming out. It's essentially the same watch with a bizarre buying process.

I love bright colors and have a collection of vintage Ibanez JEM models in the original SK, DY and LNG colors. Really sucks you can't buy this if you're a man? Can't you just buy it with your girlfriend/wife/moms credit card? lol

Well, that didn't go over well. Apparently there was a ton of negative feedback on the ordering process. Allocations are now open to everyone.

Kurono Seiji

It’s great when a company brand stands up and takes ownership - I liked the idea but knew the backlash would be severe. They owned it and did the right thing.

I was contemplating picking one of these up for my daughter if possible - love the dial. I think it’s also a perfect starter watch a number of years down the road for her. Also - she was born in December so Turquoise is one of her stones.

I’d wear that color with different strap. Platona anyone?

Ordered one of the new Grand Seiko’s yesterday so now not sure on this one now.

I was planning to order….and being of the female persuasion liked the spots for us chica’s.

Unless guys had wife’s/girlfriends order there really probably would only have been a small percentage of women ordering. Just by the #’s of us in the hobby/obsession.

I don't really want it anyways. On another note, I plan to identify as female from this point onwards.

I laud their efforts. But I’m not a big fan of the actual product line. Doesn’t do much for me

this brand "pretends" to be sophisticated; but created with many short cuts. I find this kurono and ming are equal. These buyers not satisfied owning Patek, Lange, FP Journe; and wanted to try something unique, but could not afford Phillipe Dufour , so landed in Kurono.

Will I buy one? No, not at prices above MSRP; second hand, at 30% discount form MSRP, maybe.
Will I despise person that own kurono? No, they are perfectly watch , great for some people who starting venturing independent brand; wants to venture into special watches.

Does anyone know when we'll be informed if we were chosen on the EOI ballot?

Think I read that only winners would be contacted.
So I guess both of us did not get one. Not 100% sure tho.
Anyone else?

Not a big fan of the white strap but otherwise looks nice. Might try for the public availability on Friday.

I was having some regrets about not getting in on this, but my Toki just arrived and the hands are too hard to read. The minute hand and hour hand are too hard to tell apart at a glance! Otherwise a great watch, but I won't be buying any more Kuronos with these hands.

This is a known issue with Kurono hands. They are pretty to look at and the level of polish is impressive for the price, but it is hard to distinguish between the hour and minute hands.

Looks like the wifey will have a surprise incoming.
Got the official notice today. Will be interesting to see how close the color of the lacquer is to my glacier DDII dial…

Thanks! Wifey will be happy. I’ve got a Toki incoming so we’ll have a pair.
Just ordered a black suede strap with salmon stitching for the Toki.

Hope it works out.
