5712/1A vs 5726A

Difficult to pick between blue dial with bracelet vs. annual calendar... any suggestions? Thanks

It is a tough choice, I would go for the 5712 for a first Patek, but like very much the black and white AC if you have others.

tough call as those are my two favorites in the nautilus line up. I went with the 5712 but I eventually want both. I suppose the best strategy is to get which ever is available first if you truly cant decide which one.

5712 is much thinner and I think the blue dial is really what the nautilus is all about.

5712/1A would be my vote. The dial is a smattering of Organized Chaos. I really like it and the micro rotor is awesome

difficult but only the 12 has blue dial what makes the decision simple.

that is my thinking as well. I just assumed he was referring to bracelets on both and didn't notice the missing "1". As presented by the OP, that would make the choice much easier for me... the 5712 by a mile.

I've been having thoughts about the 5726/1A after having no joy with getting a 5712/1A. I'm extremely torn between the two - the 5726 I feel like has more "intrinsic" value with the annual calendar complication (a useful complication for me.) However, I'm not sold on the additional thickness or diameter of the case, when the 5712/1A is more svelte. Further, I'll admit that the micro-rotor on the 240 is another feature that drives me the the 5712/1A, along with the blue dial and asymmetrical dial which gives it a cool chaotic, yet collected look.

I can't help but feel that I'll be "settling" going for the 5726/1A as opposed to the 5712/1A if I can call it that, considering I won't be able to get one at a reasonable price for the foreseeable future.

personal preference matters of course, but for me, if the 5726/1A came in first i would have gotten it and would not have felt like i settled. But, when you really want both its less of an issue as thats my long term plan anyway. It just depends on the end game plan, but if its only ever one, then its much more difficult.

While I'd love to have both, I don't think it's in the cards in the next few years as there's a certain watch budget I'm comfortable with and having both would well breach it. I only want one Nautilus in the collection, and hopefully by the end of 2018 my collection will only consist of:

AP 15202
FP Journe Chronometre Bleu
PP 5164A
PP 5712/1A
Rolex 116610LV

And I would die a happy man... (hopefully I don't because I'm still only 28!) Just waiting to close a pending deal on the 5164A and find the 5712/1A.

That's a fantastic end game, well, first end game. How is resale of the 5726, if not too bad I'd think about getting one and selling when the 5712 finally comes in, as judging by the climbing resale it looks like these will become very scarce.

You could make the argument for either and the only right answer is to have both!

Glad to hear there are more likes for 5712 so chances of me running into someone wearing 5726/1A is slimmer
