Depends on tons of variables like what type of watch and wrist size etc....
But to answer for me I’d say JLC Master Ultra Thin Moon Phase with white dial. Ref #1258420 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

114060 not due to price, but preference!

Never limit your choice to a price; always find what you truly want and find a way to get it.

ND SubC as mentioned before. No other concurrent for the given price. Also a must have Rolex IMO.

Don't work towards the price, work towards the watch.
A sub of some form would be good

Answer is fairly obvious to this one, as you can tell by the responses.

Prefer the cleaner look of the ND. It's absolutely classic.

Explorer 214270 ( 114060 misses the cutoff by a few hundred.)

116610LN and I like the cyclops.
It is information I use daily. Also that new white explorer would be a second choice. They really nailed it this time. The balance and design just work. |

I am (sort of) in the same situation as the OP. 50th b-day and 25th anniversary for me. I want something classic, but slightly more on the dressy side.
I am considering Rolex, and have looked and tried on many different sub models (black, blue, green) and I just cannot see where the excitement or desire for these comes from. To my mind it is the most boring, un-imaginative design ever. Now a fine GMT or DJ41 (in this price range) is a different story.... |

A few years back, I bought a 1680 for about $7k. I am enjoying wearing the watch and watching the value go up. At this time, I would buy a right 16800 and hope for the best.
