I'd go after the GMT 2 LN.

I don’t typically do it that way.

I often times find the watch I want first.

And then I determine how to fund it.

If I was starting from scratch, then this.

If it’s adding to my existing collection, then 16570 polar.

If you are NOT a watch guy, but a Rolex.

Otherwise, buy a used JLC

Just my $0.02, may worth less to you :)

1) Clean 16610 with box and papers (basically as full kit as you can find)
2) 116710LN
3) 114060
4) 216570 Polar (if you're ok with the size), otherwise a 16570 Polar
5) 14060 4-Liner, 2-Liner as a option

Too low for a Subc here, so I'd go for the new white OP.

My choice. Wanted something that could be a “one” watch. The datejust can be sporty enough with the smooth bezel and oyster to allow me to wear it to the pool while dressy enough with a suit or business casual as a lawyer. Very versatile with silver or white dials for matching with brown or black shoes/belt. The fluted bezel is a little flashy for every day as one of the things I value in an everyday watch is the ability to not scream Rolex/money/attention. More than enough water resist. The sub is something I couldn’t wear most times at work so big no go on an everyday watch for me, but if you're adding to a collection or in a job you can dress casually to, that would change my recommendation. Also, wrist size matters. I would have a difficult time pulling off a sub well, but the 36 feels perfect.

Timex. They're readily available, highly colletible in the junior high market.

Well, that was the exact amount of my budget. DavidSW to the rescue. I would have stretched to the 114060, but greatly preferred the EX2. Best of luck.

Current Explorer I or wait a year and get a white dial DJ 36 when the new movement and case make their way to the stainless version.

Save a bit more and buy something stunning.
I would save for a ss daytona, nothing compares. Use a zero% credit card to fund the difference.

I tried this one on and LOVED it! It has a little more presence than the dj41. It might be the one.
