Maybe in the states where healthcare is privatized but I've never seen a doctor nor a specialist wear a Rolex in montreal.

Two of my ER docs do. One Sub date, one Hulk. I'm a nurse and wear a Sub no date, and one of my colleagues who is a paramedic wears a Sea-Dweller.

Our veterinary doctor wears an older Sub. Somehow i like and trust him a little bit more for it. That and the fact that he looks after both our dogs as if they were his own.

My cousin is a surgeon. He wears a g-shock. His hobby is cycling. Another MD cousin doesn’t care for watch. They have other priorities in life.

It doesn’t matter what type of profession.

We all do it. The where was pretty funny but throw in the apostrophe and that was one tough sentence.

The man on the cover of the magazine is a “doctor,” but not a physician. He is a PhD.

Being a gastroenterologist myself, I have many physician friends and I would say that an equal minority of them wear Rolex or are into watches, equal to the general public.

I do not think the profession has anything to do with the watch.

I do not wear a Rolex yet, but I plan to...

Agree, there are those who wanted to punish themselves with not just a medical defree, but also the PhD

I have subjected myself to this punishment. And as reward I wear my Rolex - in clinic, doing procedures/minor surgery, in the research lab, on evenings and weekends. And hot tubs.

We were working flat out all night in an under resourced department. It’s general frustration at the system and inner city overcrowding/poor planning, but the focus (unjustifiably) was firmly shifted on to ‘the rolex’. I was politely asked by the manager not to bring any ‘luxury goods to work’ for fear of provoking patient complaints.
That’s terrible.

Do you have to watch what you drive to work also?

I remember years ago I went for a check up by a new doctor, and I thought I noticed him wearing a Daytona. Once I got a better look, he was actually wearing an Invicta! I know it sounds crazy but I refused the check up and walked out. Maybe it was stupid but I believe someones watch gives a glimpse of that persons decision making and character. My current doc wears a 5 dig bluesey sub.
