Congrats!

That’s a helluva find and the 16600 is an absolute gem of a watch. I hope you enjoy rocking that beauty.

Nice, do you own different SD's and want to share some photos of your A-series?

I can say the 16600 wears extremely comfortably and fits perfectly. This watch also adds nicely to my other 4- and 5-digit Sea-Dweller, Submariner, and GMT-Master watches. As a Sea-Dweller fan, especially the 1665, I had searched specifically for a 16600. Compared to the 116600, I prefer the smaller case, the thinner lugs, the smaller crown guards, the dial details, the aluminium bezel insert, no cyclope, the 3135 movement, and all the other small but important differences. I hope you all enjoy this thread and will share your 16600 stories plus some photos. Btw, it's my post #1000 on a special day.
Congrats on an absolutely incredible find. Yours has to be manufactured near or close to the end of the 16600 production run. Maybe there are some 'V' serials out there. I love the 16600. I have a D-serial that I purchased new from an AD in 2005. It was only my 2nd Rolex (the first being a Y-serial 16570 Polar Exp-II that I bought in 2004). The 16600 is such a satisfying watch on so many levels. It's rugged & robust with classic good looks! My D-serial says hello. Regards, -Rick.

What an awesome addition.. I am huge fan of the fully graduated bezel and the size of the 116600... I definitely see myself adding one in the future.

Only one SD. First Rolex. I also have a 168000 Sub.

Trying to get my post count high enough to be able to post pics.

Very nice specimen! To me personally the 16600 has always been THE Rolex to have and I finally got one last year (a 2006 Z serial which happens to be my son’s birth year). If I can only have one Rolex that’s the one.

Many thanks, I fully agree with all your points.
Would be nice to see a photo of your 2006 SD.

Does anybody know how many of A-series 16600's (with 'SWISS' only dials) were approximately produced?

Very belated congratulations… I don’t know how I missed it

This reference was my very first Rolex, and the one that started it all for me.

I'm guessing SD Watches, but could be wrong. Awesome selection of NOS Sea Dwellers. Have one on my own wrist, in fact

I pocked up a 16600 a few years ago. Agree with your assessment. Excellent engineering and aesthetics. Such a great watch at a reasonable price compared to Subs from that same era.

Great catch. I always find it interesting that this was the most technically advanced and expensive professional piece Rolex made at the time and now it’s a bargain.

Thanks Jeff, this Sea-Dweller is a beauty and does not need a machine ;-)

Thanks Brian, my first Rolex was a 14060M 2-liner, still enjoy and will keep it.

Thanks. It looks that you have a beautiful A-series with "SWISS" only dial?

Yes, untouched and unworn.

I agree, a M-Series 16600 NOS with a complete set is a difficult to find bargain.
