Why do you like Rolex?
I'm looking to buy a watch and always want a nice brand. Rolex is one of my choices. I'm just curious why people like Rolex in general. Why do you like Rolex? Do you think Rolex is better than other brands and what do you think a luxury watch should have? This will help me make a better decision of whether to get a Rolex or not. Thanks.

I like the quality, the feel and the looks. But I have mine for me, not for what anyone else thinks about it. IMHO those who buy a Rolex in order for others to notice are really cutting themselves off too short. They are missing the point and not obtaining the sufficient level of enjoyment one can provide...

Many reasons....the design, aesthetics, reliability, serviceability at home and internationally, accuracy, functionality, toughness, predictability and model stability...and the count continues.

Why?! Have you seen them, they are Amazing!!!!!! You have one, you want two! You have two, you want three! You have three, your wife wants to get you help for your addiction! lol Seriously, I was never a "watch guy". Fell for the Sub 10 years ago and haven't looked back. I think there are several great brands, Breitling has some fantastic watches but I can't get over the style, the perfection of Rolexes. IMHO -Pete

Rolex is/has been a proven entity. Rolex is also recognized as "cash-in-your-pocket" worldwide. I liken the following to a lot of people like or prefer Sony TVs because it is also a proven entity that's been around the block more than a couple of times. Both Rolex and Sony are global names.

When it comes to fine and luxury oriented watches, the world is truly your oyster. There are many notable bellwether names to seriously consider.
But, at least for me, only Rolex has the current Sea-Dweller DEEP SEA model and before this the GMT Master II - two models I absolutely love, adore and admire, from both an engineering and functional perspective, as well as for both style and sportiness. The COSC certification and world renowned status and pedigree are added bonuses and certainl doesn't hurt either. At the end of the day, it's all about personal taste and preferences. Again, many superb brands to consider. Good luck, enjoy and have fun now! BEST REGARDS |

My opinion shouldn't matter to you, you should get the watch that you want or desire.
However, I purchased mine because: It has been a dream of mine for such a long time to own one. The brand, the history, the reputation, the quality, and above all because its just feels good to put it on. If it doesn't do at least half of this for you, you might want to look elsewhere.

My grandfather once asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and I jokingly said "A Rolex". So the next day we were at the mall, happened to roll by an AD, and he pointed to the store and said "take your pick...". So I chose an SS DJ 16233 - and that was it. First impressions last forever.
