GMT2C crown question

Anyone encountered the crown that is tight to open and close. Have other rolex watches and this is the first time i encountered this scenario. Is this normal?

My mom's old DJ had a difficult to open crown, but it was old. After its service, it worked as expected.

I'm sure your newer reference II-c does not share the same problem.

Maybe you could describe in a bit more detail what you mean by the crown being tight to open/close ?

Mine can be a little tough to pull out all the way at times, but not a big deal.

maybe because its new? but when i had mine new it didnt seem to be an issue.

its just like a threaded screw. so it should be ok. unless the threads have damage

It is easy to cross thread the tube & crown, if it was in the display case, who knows who fooled with it. A crown should not be difficult to open or close.

jdH - is the watch still under warranty? If I were you I'd probably give it some time and then, if the problem persisted, hand it in to the AD/RSC for service before the warranty expires.

It is my experience that users moving from a double lock rolex (e.g. 16710) to a triple lock watch (14060M) are likely to obeserve a tighter than usual crown-locking feeling. However, and as said above, if under wattany, then the best way is to check it.

Guys, the watch is still under warranty. got it few days ago from our local AD. I've got other watches with triple lock and this seems to be kinda bit tough to open and close. Might as well bring it to RSC for check up and registration.

first thing i would do is unscrew it and pull it all the way out. then take a can of condensed air (like what you use on your keyboard) and spray the crown tube real good. i noticed on some of my new watches that they get a little dirty or have some fine metal pieces that may impeed the screw down process. this typically fixes them right up!

at least its a quick easy cheap try. if you still have issues then obviously take it in but this might save you the trip and time.
