I have 6.5" wrist. I think SS Daytona white dial 40mm fits the best on my wrist.
I still buy the bigger watches if I really in love with the way they look. I bought the 44mm Deep Sea because of the blue dial and 41mm AP 15500 because I fell in love with Rose Gold bracelet. |

42 is the max, but the way Rolex fit the only model I would not wear is the DSSD or SD43 (the bracelet is way too wide for my taste)

The Breitling case actually fit surprisingly well on my small wrist, although the lugs did overhang. The lugs would overhang unless you were about a 6.75 inch wrist and were actually curved downwards so it felt like they were almost designed to be overhanging. This kind of fits with Breitling's styling as they have watches that go over 50mm, which obviously wouldn't fit most of us without some special designs. I'm away from my desktop in Texas or I would find the pictures from the crown side. |

At 6.5 inches I like big watches and do a Breitling 43mm. I like it big

I have a 6.5” wrist and I find that the lug to lug distance is the most important factor and I try to keep it at 50mm max

I’m ok up to 42mm as long as lug to lug length is 48mm max.

I have a 6.5 wrist, and wear my 114060 all the time -- it fits great! I also have a Speedy Pro that fits fine. I had a DJ36 but moved on from it. If I was going to go back to a DJ, I’d probably strongly consider the DJ41.

I use to be a huge Breitling fan a few years back. But after the sub I found the size of Breitling a too big. Gold trans ocean is a great watch though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nominal numbers are rather pointless.
These are both “44 mm” The GWG-1000 on the right is stated to be 59.5 x 56.1. For me, doesn’t wear much bigger than the AP. Shouldn’t rule out (or in) watches just based on advertised size. |

Most watches over 40-42mm look silly on my small wrist. However a Hublot classic fusion 45mm fitted fine presumably due to its lugs, back when I owned. I wear a 35mm, 39,40 now. My Garmin is 40mm but too thick for as much comfort

I have 6.25" wrists, and the max I would ever go is 40mm.
I don't like the way any modern sport Rolex looks on my wrist except for the Daytona. The oversized lugs on the subs/gmts etc are not nearly as good a fit when comparing to 4/5 digit models. |

6.5 here for Rolex ym40 dj36 and Daytona fit me best. My max is the speedy, which I feel is right at the limit.

Smaller wrists guys (6"-6.5") - What is your cut off size?
6.5 inches. Preferred is the Daytona as it feels small on many people but is perfect on me. Largest I'll go is 40mm. Everything larger overhangs a bit. They can be worn but they just don't look right to me. I can wear as small as a 34mm but truthfully prefere watches in the 39-40mm range.
Just for fun, here are a couple of oversized watches for me from my pre Rolex days. a 44mm "woman's" watch. And a 53mm "Men's" watch. It's amazing what FOMO will cause one to wear. Also the shape of the wrist as well as the circumference both play a roll in what fits. |

Late model Ceramic Sub has the right weight and size for me. I tried a Deep Sea 44mm when they first hit the market, and thought it looked silly on my small wrist.

I have 6" wrists, and my BLNR, frankly, is pushing it. Anything larger and my arm is swamped. 36-39mm seems to be the perfect size...
BLNR (40mm) Omega Speedmaster FOIS (39.5mm) Lange 1 Moonphase (38.5mm) Patek 5066a (36mm) AP RO 14790ST (36mm) Grand Seiko 4520-7000 (36mm) King Seiko 4420-9990 Chronometer (36mm) Lange Odysseus (40.5mm - not mine. Love the watch but pretty sure it's too big.) |

I wear anything from 37mm through to 42mm but 39mm is probably my sweet spot. I only go over 40mm if it is a watch that is supposed to wear large (I.e. Offshore)

I was surprised to find that the Nautilus 40mm (at least the thin ones) wears smaller than its size. Still looking for a 5711/2.

I got 6,3 inches wrist and I can't wear anything above 36mm with short sleeves without it looking ridiculous on my scrawny arms :-)
I don't want to look like 'that guy' sporting 55mm diesel watches.. you know what i mean. |

I'm on a smaller size of 6" wrist. For me the Explorer I in 36mm fit me perfectly.
My upper limit would be the new Ceramic GMT. But I'm more comfortable in pre ceramic 16710 case. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have a 7” wrist so a bit larger than you asked about. What I can say is that it depends on the reference. I can easily wear 47mm Panerai and 40 mm Rolex.

A 47mm Pam on my wrist would not look good for sure. I've crossed my 40mm limit with a 45 PO, but it's the watch I had more than 10 years ago and I was lucky to buy back. Anyway I'm not skinny and albeit not looking good on a wrist shot, at a distance it doesn't look that bad, and my wife likes it so it's all good.

My wrists are definitely on the smaller size, but I do own a 44mm Panerai. I have two 40mm, one 39mm and one 36mm Rolex.
