taking a step forward
a SA at a local chain owned boutique told me that she can request the two-tone datejusts without commitment since we were having a hard time trying to decide on the configuration without actually seeing it in person no idea how long it will take to actually see any new watches but at least the orders will be placed still have feelers out with 2 other local family owned jewelry stores |

Be upfront and tell them you want 3 watches, the 2 lady models and the Pepsi. See what they can do. I know they like to move the ladies models - especially if they have them in stock.
The AD's do not know when they will get the sports models (just how many they will get this year). An associate of mine is a VVIP and requested a Cermit - been waiting like 4-5 months already.

It all depends on your AD, and that's why he is in the best position to answer this, but I think purchasing 2 2-tone ladies Datejust should be enough to put you in a nice place for a sports watch.

Screw bundling. If your wife and mother in law want them and you’re willing to get it for them go for it. It would be fantastic gift and I’m sure they would both be grateful. Buy it for them and ask to be put down for a BLRO. If they give you a hard time screw em spend your money elsewhere at another AD.

so it's been a little over a month since i started my quest to "bundle" some watches
i am checking in with the 3 local AD's every 10-14 days no news yet except that Rolex shipments have started to come through since the "3 week break" I started thinking I should "upgrade" my dad's watch as well from memory, I thought he had a blue dial airking and thought a Datejust 36 might be a good fit for him when we got together for Father's Day, i asked him to show me his watch it's an Oyster Perpetual Date ref 15210 This was the first time I really paid attention to his watch it's got a lot of character I still want to get him a nice gift for his upcoming 73rd birthday but I don't think a datejust would be an "upgrade" for him just a bonus |

I dunno. I’ve never been a fan of the dinner plate on the wrist look if the persons wrist is more narrow than tip to tip of the lugs - and even then that is the absolute max and not exactly a good fit. I can only just about get away with 6 digit 40mm Rolex. Anything bigger and it would just look silly. No point living in denial as much as I’d love to aspire to a SKyD

You've given a few updates, but no mention of what they've said about the Pepsi. Anything? |

Not sure if this was already suggested. But I would find a nice local AD. Go for a more family owned store. See if you can talk to the owner. Tell him you’re looking to build a long term relationship. Luckily you have women in your life that like watches too. Say you want that Pepsi or skyd. You know how the market is, and hopefully they can get it. I wouldn’t except a hard yes. More like a “I think we can do it”.
If you feel good, the owner seems like a good person, you want to work with them long term. Then buy one lady watch first. Take it slow. Give it time. See if they’ll come through on the Pepsi. If you get the First Lady watch and it’s been 6 months, say you really want something for yourself. Then decide if you wanna buy the second lady watch before or after. If you made a good call on the person being someone you want to work with, then you should feel ok getting that second lady watch and know they’ll come through eventually. Lastly. Work with the owner, or at least a SA that has been there forever. Good luck. |

The bigger chain AD
The sales associate told me it would be difficult to secure a Batman or SkyD this year but it's possible Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

This is why I am checking in with the smaller AD But the smaller AD is a jewelry store and sells other watch brands as well From my discussions so far, it seems apparent that I need to spend more if I want the watches I am looking for Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

Go for the 36mm which would be a perfect fit, look better and I believe cheaper and easier to get. |

Saw a TT DJ41 Wimbledon (fluted, jubilee) available in the display. Second one in 6 months!
Personally, prefer the 36. Matching his and her. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

please excuse the dirty crystal on my daytona didn't realize it was so bad until i looked at this photo stopped by the AD to just say hi and have a chat with the SA she showed me a Batman on jubilee that was supposed to get picked up today... told me this particular customer has been waiting for this since 2018 O_O trying it on in person confirmed that i'd prefer it on oyster over the jubilee while we were talking, the SA asked me if i'd be interested in the green bezel sub i got excited for a second thinking she was OFFERING it to me because she had one but she was just trying to see what else i might be interested in I told her i'd have to see it in person and if i were to take the green sub, then i'd probably take the batman off my list she said she'll let me know the next time one comes in we'll see what happens
