So is Rolex still shipping watches manufactured in 2019/early 2020, or did these remain in semi-secret production in order to use up already fabricated cases/bracelets and remaining 3135s?

If the former, wondering if they “found” a batch meant to ship months ago, and even Rolex misplaced things from time to time. If some version of the latter, wondering if any are 11 series cases outfitted with a 3235 (though very, very doubtful)?

Thank you

36mm
She's been wearing a 31mm for about 5 years and wanted to try something different

No way 2 DJ in this day and age will qualify you for a Pepsi. All lip service by the AD is my bet

No, but if you play it right … meaning be nice and stay in touch, they should take care of you. Being demanding or expecting doesn’t play well. But, being courteous and expressing your desire for a model upon this purchase should get you on their mind - thinking you’d get one in a year or two.

i was checking out several ADs with the prospect of bundling the purchase

the AD that "guaranteed" a bundle also sells other watch brands and jewelry
they wanted more spend to bundle a GMT or skydweller
so i passed on that

i went with a Rolex-only AD instead
had a good connection with the SA so I'm putting my trust in her to come through with one of the watches I'm after

yes
i wasn't spending enough to walk in and demand a bundle on the spot
committed to one AD and playing the long game now

Nice watch. I think the white dial is the easiest to get but no steel SkyDweller is easy. I think it's going to be wearing you though.

Not bad!

Just make sure you like it on your wrist when trying on. I love the complication of a SkyDweller but it is sadly just too big for my wrist.

Nice, good for you. Post pics and enjoy, Your diligence paid off. Hans Wilsdorf can be proud that people go through all of this to get one of his watches!

Hopefully you don’t make us wait 9 days and show us an invicta!

Oh lawd...
No "in 9 days" thread here

But I am going to take a day or two to decide
Jubilee over the oyster bracelet for sure
That's already decided

The big question is... Do I like the white dial enough to give up on the blue?
I am behind a lot of others for a blue dial and there isn't one on the horizon
I'll sleep on it

You'll need a much bigger spend for the blue. I'm on the list for the black after being invited on the list for white or black but was politely shutdown when I mentioned blue. I have a lot more than 2x DateJust on my account.

I've decided to take the white dial skydweller on jubilee
there isn't a blue one on the horizon and there's no telling how long i may be waiting to get one, if ever

so thus ends my quest of using 2 DJ purchases to get my foot in the door to obtain a watch from my wish list
and I have established a solid relationship with my AD so I hope to get other pieces as well

Congrats, awesome watch and that was a quick turnaround in my opinion.

That shot shows how different and “creamlike” the skyd is vs the Daytona, really nice 2 watch combo.

I would take that white SD down to a grey and trade into the watch you really want and forget the relationship crap. They’re not giving you anything else without more substantial non-hot model purchases, they’ve already given you something hot to keep you in the circle.

Seems like a bit of a downer at the end that you have wasted a lot of time and $50k to only end up with something that you’re not ecstatic about. If it wasn’t ‘hot’ you wouldn’t have bought it. You should be overjoyed when spending this kind of coin on essentially luxury goods or what is the point.

You now have a purchase history with the AD but that does not mean you won’t have to buy another 2 TT DJs or a bunch of jewellery to secure a Pepsi. There is no incentive for them to give you what you really want, they will give you an excuse that you just got a hot model so you will have to wait a year or so before being considered for another hot piece (along with some more purchases prior to that).

Not wanting to be negative but the vibe is you don’t feel a sense of happiness that you should after shelling out $50k. A bit of a lessons learned that one may as well go grey from day 1 and get what you want at market price straight away.

we'll see if the AD keeps calling me as the other watches show up or not

i'm very happy about the white skydweller
it was not even something that i considered a possibility so soon so i had to really go through all the possibilities
if i end up still really wanting a blue dial, i can always trade up for one or buy a different watch to fill that want

Congratulations on the white Sky-Dweller! You're in a great spot to trade up later and at the end of the day you got a steel sports model for retail.

Thanks for posting your experience OP.

Congrats on the white Skydweller. I was looking for white or blue for my next watch. But a tt Skydweller came in (July)3 months after my first AD purchase( datejust and chnr Rootbeer)

Saw it in person and had to get it. SA did offer me the Sky dweller on OF band in June but passed.

it just works better on my wrist
plus it's something different from my daytona on oyster

Edward, are you in LA?

Interesting, I just bought the exact OP Date 34mm Blue dial on the same weekend you mentioned, BUT from an AD in the Bay Area. It was sitting in the display case, and super cool to be able to walk in the Boutique to buy "almost" exactly what I was looking for. So either:
1) Rolex just shipped a bunch of discontinued OP Date 115200 to different ADs at least in the West Coast, or
2) I bought the watch you're looking at if you were in the Bay area...

Kind of funny to see that picture...

Congrats and welcome. I bought my black SkyD in 2018 3 weeks after mentioning my intentions to my SA who sold me a Hulk in early 2018. I’ve only bought the Hulk from him so it was going to be impossible to get the blue dial. I’m enjoying the black dial now but hope to have the dial exchanged out to blue at RSC in the future. I’ve heard/read conflicting reports on the dial changeout so fingers crossed.
