Icon2 Any love here for 1950s Turn-O-Graphs?

I'm thinking I should add a Turn-O-Graph (6202) to my collection. They were an important part of Rolex's history.

I realise they are quite small compared to Subs/Seadwellers - but I quite like the look.

Does anyone here own one? Any advice/stories to tell?

I like the look but moved away from Vintage a long time ago when I had difficulty servicing and finding original parts.

I'd love to own one of course but not really on my radar, I really like the candlestick hands though which is why I roll with an old SM 300 which is also a lot more accessible ;-)

Fair enough. Yes, parts for some models are difficult to find (or very expensive) these days.

Beautiful omega. There is a nice one on eBay that doesn’t run for $6k. Beauty of a watch. Almost as nice as a Rolex, not as nice as a tudor. Haha you have good taste

I owned a complete full set 1953 turn o graph... but sold it :
in the flesh it's disappointing , and wears quite smaller than -say- a 6536.

I’m a fan of them, just love that they are the genesis of most other sports Rolex. The size doesn’t bother me, especially when worn on an early strap.
Mines a Q4 1953 on a 1953 GF bracelet. Original owner sent it back in the early 60s to have the radium dial replaced with a stunning deep gloss tritium service dial, that’s now turning a lovely shade of chocolate, as he was worried about radiation.
Had it for a few years and, other than loosing far too many hairs to that bracelet, it’s a great watch that didn’t cost the earth, unlike early Subs. Recently serviced and keeps great time.

I came across a 1954 6204 some 30 + years ago. I gave up along time ago on sourcing original parts (dial, hands, bezel insert, ...). I just enjoy it as it is.

Lots of love! I have a 6205. I had my refinished original to the watch re-refinished. Love it. Wish I had the coin for a non re-finished dial.

The only part I've had trouble sourcing at service was an authentic 6567 friction spring. Many aftermarket ones out there for the A260 and similar, but it was a pain finding a real one.

I meant 5607 friction spring. . . .
