Purchasing ALS from Grey Dealer

Found several grey dealers listing new/unworn ALS timepieces on chrono24 at significant discounts. They have good feedback. Obviously, piece of mind would be greater purchasing from an AD but at $5-8K discounts and the chrono24 guarantees, it seems like a no-brainer.

Can anyone provided any advice? Thanks!

I bought an 1815 up down from a dealer in Monaco at a pretty substantial discount with no problems at all. Unfortunately post Brexit all the good deals are now closed to me!

Check with K2 Luxury or Watches.de

You’ll be able to get it under msrp and these teams are the best in the game

It is a no-brainer. But find a reputable gray dealer.

Both great recommendations, worked with K2 several times and talked with Watches.de -

I’d also definitely recommend talking to Alp - Langepedia.com. The Lange expert bar none.

if you buy through chrono24-- they charge a high premium and I am not sure who pays for that or am I wrong

There should be a large annual watch faire in Germany each year - Very credible rumour has it that you can make exceptional deals if you go with cash - ALS included

The seller pays a 6.5% premium I believe.

I have sold a couple on chrono24 and the seller pays 6.5%. No problem with sales

Correct….. but like anything else… most sellers transfer these fees to the buyer via higher prices

Also; for US sales? Maybe other countries different, but buyer pays state sales taxes

Yes it was a few years ago, but all prices have gone up. The days you could buy a Datograph for 35K are gone

I tried to make a deal on their site once and the seller was going to charge me 8% to go through chrono24

Would definitely save the money if buying from a legitimate seller. Unless you’re buying from a boutique with a solid promise for a tougher to acquire piece.

But if you were willing to do a transaction directly with them… you wouldn’t get charged correct? And in theory their website was cheaper than the Chrono list price?

I bought my Grand Lange 1 on chrono from original seller. ALS has got to be one of the best brands out there. Buying for under msrp seems like winning the lottery to me.
But definitely do a little homework. Mine was sent in for service prior and I spoke with the ALS rep who confirmed it was in great shape and didn't need any work hardly.
