Tudor BB GMT and Crafter Blue strap

I've been considering some of the more affordable rubber straps for my BB GMT. At only $65, plus $15 shipping, one very reasonable alternative may be the Strapcode Crafter Blue. Unfortunately, I have not be able to confirm its fit on the GMT.

The Strapcode website states that the Crafter Blue is an "NBR rubber watch band with a curved solid end piece perfectly fit Tudor Heritage Black Bay 41mm version 7922R, 79220 & 79230 models, etc." I contacted Strapcode to find out if the "etc" meant that the strap would fit the GMT (Reference Number: 79830RB) and got this reply:
"While the model should be also compatibility with the GMT model, please consider, or, we can offer you a pair of special curved springbar for safe, please consider and let us know if you consider to purchase, we will inform team to special arrange for you, thanks!"

Despite the mangled wording of the reply, it seems to mean that the strap will fit, but that a curved springbar is recommended. Has any used the Crafter Blue on the GMT and if so, did you use curved springbars? Wouldn't a curved springbar be difficult to get through a solid rubber strap?

If they are curved springbars provided by the same company to go with the strap then I suspect it’ll be ok. Did you not like the original strap/ bracelet that came with the watch?

In first place let me tell you that I have a Crafter Blue fitted on my Seiko Marine Master and it is extremely comfortable. Although it might not be as good in terms of quality as the Rubber B I have on the Sky Dweller it feels really good on the wrist.

Second, and in regard to the curved springbars, my smartwatch (Alpina AlpinerX) comes on a rubber strap that fits with said curved springbars. I was a bit puzzled the first time I changed straps but they work really well, exactly like normal springbars, and they help in keeping the rubber closer to the case.

Hope it helps.

One of the reasons I looked at Strapcode is my previous experience with them; I have their Angus Jubilee on my Seiko Alpinist. The Strapcode bracelet is quite well-made and a very precise fit on the Seiko - very good value for money in my opinion. I'd expect the same from their BlackBay-specific straps. What gives me pause is not seeing the GMT's reference number included in Strapcode's listing of Tudor 41mm watches, and their somewhat equivocal response.

Thanks to the replies here, I'm going to order a Crafter Blue for my BB GMT in the dark blue color. The cost is reasonable enough that the gamble is worth taking.

Will post about the fit after receiving the strap.

I have had no experience with Crafter Blue but I purchased from VanGuard straps who specialise in rubber straps for Tudor and Rolex. They fit great.

I have the BB GMT and the crafter blue strap... it works with regular spring bars but it took a lot of fiddling, curved would work better IMO

That Vanguard strap looks great.

Will post some photos when I get the Crafter Blue.

Yeah it fits. Tight fit with straight bars see if you can get the curved and let us know how they work out.

The strap looks great on your GMT.

I have a set of curved 22mm bars waiting - just need the strap to get here from HK.

Let me guess...rubberB for you?

Too bad they don't make a dark blue version. Considering this strap was about 30% of the cost and hasn't failed I'm very happy with it.

I do have a rubber b on my black bay. You have a very nice watch, Im not hating on you man! It's 30% of the cost because it's a lower quality product made in Hong Kong. Hopefully the 2 glued pieces don't come apart and it won't fail either. I personally don't like the metal keeper and prefer using the OEM clasp. Let us know how it goes perhaps they have improved

No worries I'm not hating in you either!

I wanted a rubber b for mine but their blue was too light/vivid so thankfully found the darker crafter blue. Since it's in a rotation it doesn't get a lot of wear and my usage might not be the most representative for a rubber strap. Thanks for the photo and info, I'll definitely check mine over for weak spots and report back if anything turns up.

The metal keeper is a big
I wonder why they chose that over a rubber keeper?

I've just fitted a navy crafter blue to my black bay blue, it fits really well, seems good quality and need very little fiddling to fit, all done in under a minute, definitely recommend it
