Wear it.

It's a Sea-Dweller after all.

Cheap and cheerful beater for me, after I put it back on the bracelet. I'll wear the SD after the beach.

As long as you don't go deeper than 4,000 feet you should be alright.

Wear it. I hope it’s the reason you bought in the first place!

Don't wear it to the beach.

Sand will scratch both SS and the sapphire crystal.

Call me Brian.

No issues other than just the sand and oil which will rinse off. I am 25 plus years into ownership with Rolex and other brands and I can say it does not even cross my mind to wear my Rolex to swim, dive or really do much in that way. I don't even wear my Tudors for this. It is Seiko Diver or G-Shock for me. In the end it is a choice not a reflection on an owners character to do either. Just a choice.
+1 each to their own really.

I came back from Majorca recently and wore a TT Daytona in the evenings but during the day on the beach I wore my G-Shock playing with the kids in the sand and sea. Why subject my Daytona to this:

But if you are just going to the sea by all means wear your SD!

On the basis you have specified you want to keep it 'minty' then you should probably wear a beater. I however prefer to buy my watches to wear as often as I can, rather than preserve them. Life is short, so get as much enjoyment out of them as possible...

It was intended as jewelry.

No ,it's not. It's jewelry. (And besides, divers are in open water and not on the beach)

If you just lay on your towel then wear what you want. If you get sand under the bezel you'll be back here posting "Help! Should I send this to the RSC?" It sounds terrible and is a PITA to get out.

OP, buy a Seiko or a G-shock (or at least a Tudor.)

I don't wear my Sea Dweller in the ocean, not becuase of any fear of it being in the water, but the fear that somehow someway it falls off my wrist and I lose it. In a pool I can always grab it if something happens, the ocean is another story.

I prefer not to wear any watch on the beach anyway. Just more comfortable to not wear it and not a fan of the tan lines it leaves anyway.

Personally I find wearing a watch to the beach uncomfortable with tan lines, sweat, worry, etc.

If you enjoy wearing it to the beach, for whatever reason than wear it! My recommendation, no need for Seiko, Rolex or Casio at beach. I promise that you will have a good time with or without it.

If your goal is to keep it "minty", then yes you should wear something else to the beach...and everywhere else you go.
